Yep we sure didn't have much in the Manchester area in the 80's..... Ardwick Sports Hall with 2 Quarterpipes plus 1 kickturn ramp and Barton BMX Track which was a bit pants really  :(

Tis a shed load of money for sure but I'm lookin forward to seeing it. Wonder what will happen to the track at Platt Fields????

Diss it all you like. You cant go and ride the Velodrome without booking and paying, you cant play golf at St Andrews without booking or paying

One way or another BMX has moved on, further than most people on this site will realise. Get over it.

TBH, the track that will be built in there wont be much fun to ride for most - well unless you like pumping through jumps  ;)

Yeah that would fix everything.

Wouldnt it be great if Britsih Cycling or any other governing body had a magic wand eh?

There alot of good in UK BMX but what everyone see's is the bad, the stuff that goes on thats out of the average persons reach.

Question for you...... How long do you thing that fancy building will have a BMX track in it?  I dont know the answer but I would guess it wont be long after the Olympics before there is another use for that building/facility.

Then we'll all have something else to moan at!  :LolLolLolLol:

:) People have dreamed of this sort of facility in the UK for years & now that it`s a reality they are bitching about it! In the short term,it`ll hopefully raise the profile of BMX racing... :daumenhoch:

There does seem to be quality tracks popping up everywhere now, even the play/pump tracks are awesome. Even Rhyl has a track now...

If anyone really wants a good old whinge i'd go looking into what other Olympic sports are spending on facilities.  I can only imagine BMX is the bottom feeder in the big league stakes it now finds itself in.
