RALEIGH RACING R7000 Cruiser
« on: May 29, 2011, 10:39 PM »
I did a raleigh racing team bike last year and upon posting it on the bmx museum a member piped up saying he had an RR 84 Cruiser. I had never seen one before and after sourcing the 84 catalogue i knew it was a project i would love to get my teeth into. So nearly a year later this is how my RALEIGH RACING R7000 Cruiser turned out. I hope you like.
First of all here is a shot of what caought my eye. :coolsmiley:
Thanks go out to.
Del - Steve - Johnathan (buttsbikeshop). The guys that make it possible  :coolsmiley:

Thanks for all the positives lads.

I also forgot and want to thank you andy for the time and effort put in on the seat post.

While at mk10 Andy Greg motomag and myself were at the side of recycle bicycle's bits. He had a cut off DX seat post. We kicked it around a bit saying what a pitty it was so fecked.
Greg piped up, "how much is it mate"
"well......erm.....how about a fiver" the guy said.
I said for a fiver i will have it even if i just wear it as an earring. ;D

Anyway butts sourced me some alli bar then andy cleaned the bottom off and tapped threaded screwed and glued the post, leaving a chamferred edge for alli weld.
The post went back to butts for welding and was then chromed. (couldn't be re annodised due to three different alli's)
A decal from Del and hey presto a dx resto. The thing looked lovely and cost in total £35. :coolsmiley:
