only problem with trickstar`s is once they are cracked they are never the same again as i had one that was cracked and after being repaired it cracked else where and then started making creaking noisey , fine for show but not for riding

Good deal! Even with the crack, to include the mags, bars, crank etc is a good package

I was gonna have a go at that till I saw the additional pics with the crack, put me right off. Still a good package price though so well done to whoever got it.

I bought it.

Arrived this morning, £350 of Hutch parts and a free American made very early Hutch Trick Star with flaking chome.

I think I'm going to keep it as it is, with its original chrome and decals.

It's come up nice, couldn't really see from the ebay ad.. but they aint Trick Star forks ... more like much later overseas made racers, defo not the original ones to that frame

and the bars can't have come with the frame either .. they weren't knurled in 84

the bend at the top of the forks is wrong for early ones, Trick Star forks are like this... with pegs and 1st gen without pegs

and the bend was always like that from the beginning of Hutch, these are from circa 82

yours are more like these ... this is an 88 taiwan pro racer

drop outs give it away too .. TS and Judge forks (same things really) have double thickness drops

Yes, I think they are Pro Raider forks, I have a set of badly painted Trick Star forks that will be taking a trip to be chromed. Do you think the decals are original to the frame?

hard to say, but i'd be inclined to think not. That was the first decal that came on Trick Stars .. but some early ones with a later *Trick Star* down tube decal were pre-serial frames .. which would prob mean any before them (like the ones with your decals) would be pre-serial too. I don't know that for a fact, but it seems to make sense. Although you do have an early serial number .. starts with 044 doesn't it? april 84 is about as early as Trick Stars come

paid £105 for my first US made Trickstar, and 90 for the forks (8 years ago though!)

bought another one for £195 - US made F&F in Woody Pink, totally mint condition...., sold it to Torker Tony - don't know whether he still has it

prices have gone up over the years, but think that we a good deal,... but you need to get some Mike D or Woody bars too
