Synstryp - as recommended by SBD :-)
« on: September 07, 2012, 09:37 AM »
After having it recommended by Dan I decided to get some of this and give it a go ...

I'm stripping the 'cornetto' off my Supercross as I have a suspicion its been powdered over untouched chrome  :coolsmiley:

I paid my £28 and a very well padded parcel arrived.

This stuff says DO NOT F**K WITH ME so I had to tighten up my usually caviler attitude to chemicals by donning gloves and a decent mask ( not gimp )

just did a little test under the BB to see what would happen... painted a little on and waited 10 mins...

Some nice bubbling going on... this is what you want Nitromors to look like but it never does...

I little prod to disturb the surface and .... wow... no effort ... no damage to the chrome... SPOT ON.

THANK YOU SUPERBIKE DAN  :4_17_5:

never  :LolLolLolLol: I would have left it 'green' but when I was getting the headset out a big chunk of green flaked off ... its just been powdered over the un-prepped chrome so that was bound to happen ... gonna get it stripped and build it up again  :daumenhoch: from 2 green bikes to 'none' in a day!   :LolLolLolLol:

Ed I would be VERY careful with that stuff reading the warnings it states Possible risk of irreversible effects

And lets be fair.......you have a few too many of them already  :-*

I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

Oh boy, I could be here for hours on THAT subject....... but I won't :LolLolLolLol:

Ed, wanna sell some of that as I'm going to do exactly the same thing to my GT Pro as it was sprayed a very nice navy blue over the chrome by a former owner, but it's flaking off left right and bleedin' centre :-\

Still limping......

Just finished stripping my Supercross ... this stuff deffo made it loads easier but you need a PROPER mask no question ... even when I had cleaned the frame and was washing it down the fumes were a little 'throuty'  ;D
