Today my mate steve brought me round whitehawk no10 which is going to be a joint resto project over the next few months . Steve has owned this bike since 1983 and has been sat in the shed at his mothers house since 1989 as you can see from the pictures we have our work cut out any info that anyone has ref the wally whitehawk sticker as ours is only half there we would like another on this bike when it is eventually finished

heys guys does anyone know if i can get these bars back to former glory the metal though rusted on top seems good underneath would i need to wire brush them dip them can anyone help these were nice powerlite bars bitd cheers bullseye

Looks like pretty well established rust but

If this turns out half as nice as Phil's Whitehawk ,,, well you're on to a winner

thanks phill will try the rust stuff and soak the bars frame and forks also i am going to try and polish the 83 mx 1000 that we have with this bike

its going to be a long and maybe expensive rd but i think to keep one of englands own alive and kicking it will be well worth it cheers guys

scrape all that crap off with a knife ! it will improve. trouble is it will return slowly !

Cool project!look forward to this!BENDYCAT ELEVENTEEN has done resto threads about bringing up chrome as bad as this.It would be worth reading as he had fantastic results.

Nope they had at least 2 shops that I can say with 110% certainty

mate thank u who did ur decals? they are cool i remember that mini from back in the day i seem to remember that mini having a uni black mini and some cali lite black pads and skinny comp3 style tyres mate for a second i was twelve again looking around that shop in ore of all the great bikes and bits that were there for us to druell over .. do u think i should do WANTED LIST up of the parts i am after to make this build the muts or is ity best to just say as i can afford or should i get everone looking for the blue /silver bits now whatr do u think evereone has been so helpful with my pro p that i know that u could all do well the aim is to get it done for mk13

The bars can b saved . Chromers will clean all that then copper plate first, polish then nickle and Chrome. Triple plate will easy save them fella

I have saved worse believe me

gotta a pair I'm doing at mo that r far worse than urs
