Piranha
« on: April 20, 2013, 11:50 AM »
Spotted this on google, does it belong to anyone on here?
Love these, we all either had one or had a mate that did and this is about the most complete example i've seen for 30 years, wouldn't take much to put it right  :daumenhoch:

Not sure how you rip pictures from flickr so it's a url

Remember my mate getting one for Christmas .. He used to fly down the hill from our shops! Always looked as if he was doing 100mph!! Those wheels & the big wide bars. Think it was the power to weight ratio of that bike, shooting down that hill. Looked like it could smash through walls. Cool bit of street bmx history  :daumenhoch:
Griff loves BUM..

Simon's got one waiting to get build in the lock-up. I took the mags to Metal magic in Barnsley and he media blasted them - not saying they came up good but they look NOS. Seriously amazing :smitten:

Brierley Hill is 5mins from where we grew up as well so everyone had them round by us as kids :daumenhoch:
Still limping......

Years ago I picked one up for JOJO (RB.COM) to pass on and it weighed a ton  ???  the mags look cool but are really heavy and a lot heavier than motomags

Nice find Bob. Mine BITD looked the same but had the earlier straight mags. Wish I hadn't sold the one I got to recreate it  :-\

I'd love one of the earlier ones with the five spoke mags. By the time the one with the banana mags came out we all had better bikes, still love em though

.

Apart from me Bob, as you were all getting decent bikes, my Old Man was buying me a Piranha Freestyler (July 1985). One of these would be my grail I suppose? :daumenhoch:

Wazza, we had this random conversation at MK a couple of years back when i picked up a CW for Kappy i thought...... :2funny:

Born in Birmingham, dragged up in Halesowen. My old man still lives there :daumenhoch: All my mates from Halesowen college lived in B/Hill, Quarry bank, Dudleeeeaaaay and Stourbridge

Went to Poly in Sheffield and never left, hence the plastic northerner jibes from Griff :buck2: :crazy2:
