1980 Scott Clark Robinson finished
« on: April 21, 2013, 08:29 PM »
My last ever Robinson / build finished and this one has been a challenge  :) .. I found a photo of Scott on a Robinson and realised I had the jersey in the photo , so the rest of the bike had to follow ..  This photo is all I had to go off .  Scott and Bobby woods  :4_17_5:

I had Scott on my Facebook and after time , he's helped me with the parts he can remember on the above bike .  It's not an exact replica but pretty close  :)

In all the photo's i have of Scott he's always running an inverted rear brake and I couldn't work out how he ran the cables until he gave me the answer ..

. I had thought of drilling the frame until i was told not to ..

Do I drill it  :-\

A few months later , I was talking to Alan woods and told he told me he had an old plate somewhere and sent me a photo  :) .

And it's now complete ..  I love the Ame decal stuck over the Oakley decal after he changed sponsors

Parts lists

Rare 1980 euro bb Scott Clark frame and forks , survivor chrome   , original NOS decals ..
Robinson pro bars
Oakley 1 grips
Shimano per bent levers
Shimano tourney brakes ( I have a blue rear centre pull brake ) but would have to drill the frame
Mathauser pads front and rear
Shimano cables
Shimano Dura ace  hubs
Shimano Dura ace cranks
Shimano chain ring bolts
Rat trap pedals
Araya  rims
Cheng shin tyres
Suntour seat clamp
Kashimax seat
Chrome seat post
Pro neck stem
Did chain
Repo Robinson pads
Scott's original race plate  :smitten:

Nice pic from Snav when we picked the plate up on Saturday  :daumenhoch:

Awesome old school Robinson rider

Thanks for looking ...  :daumenhoch:

You have a very special part of the Robinson storey there Carl,  I ve seen this build develop and its another Cracker from you mate   :daumenhoch:

Carl that little workshop in Chucks yard surely made its mark on the bmx scene ...   :smitten:

Last build,  mmm.  Maybe a slow down but last build I doubt it  :LolLolLolLol:

You've done another stunning job on that one Carl.

I know how hard it is trying to replicate a build from a magazine pic but you have had the added the luxury of speaking to the man himself.

A real 'feel good' build  :smitten: :smitten:

now thats what you call a replica bike  8)
if you never gonna sell the bike and you wanted it just as he had it then i'd drill it.
if you think you might cash it one day then i'd leave it.
i know it would do my head in not to drill it though  :uglystupid2:
