I have just spoke to Robbo about the ride.

My view is the route isn't the problem. It's the amount of time spent waiting at train stations, and drinking too much at each pub.

I think we should meet up at the first pub between 10:30 and 11:15.
That way the Liverpool st riders don't need to ride all the way over to Waterloo.
The Waterloo riders just ride down to the first pub stop down the embankment. As we are earlier I would advise that folks don't get stuff to eat at the stations. As that brings me to our second problem. As the 2nd pub (at the docks) we go to is the one we normally eat at. We end up wasting time at pub one as we don't want to turn up at pub 2 to early as we ain't that hungry.

If we turn up at pub 2 (the docks at 12:00-12:15. Then spend an hour there having lunch as well.
Then leave at 13:15 and arrive at the gun for 13:45ish.
Once again have just a pint and then ride on to St. Paul's for a quick picture.
Now this brings me to the second problem. Normally our route takes us to Covent garden. Which we normally arrive at 4pm this has sadly turned into a major stop with most people getting wasted down in the patio area and a few people left up top looking after the bikes. No wonder most people choose this time to go home. Normally coz they don't want to get wasted on a Sunday due to work the next day. If you notice most of those people just get something to eat and drink and then go home.

I think we should concentrate the ride part of this day in this area.
Basically leave the gun then ride to St. Paul's, then on to Buckingham palace and Trafalgar Square.
It would be nice to fit another pub in around that area.
Then finally on to Covent garden. The usual people can then grab something to eat and drink and go home if they wish. Whilst the others have an extended stop.
I have heard a fair few people moan that they would have liked to ride to buck house and Trafalgar Square. But they don't want to wait for the others to get wasted first.

Anyway this is my view, I'm sure with a few tweaks to the ride and some sort of schedule we can make most people happy.

You could have made your 'Pointers' before the last ride

that way i might not have stayed so long at the pub / missed the last train home / got the silent treatment from the misses for the following three days

I don't mind whatever we do, I have no problem if we stay ages at pubs or spend more time riding, just good to catch up and have a few cuddles. Put me down
