Friday is Teenage Rampage night

Think a Saturday would be best. Maybe the 12th? As the one after is the Southport ride and week after half term.

ive just got my old skates from my mums loft the other day

mine are Trezeta boots, bauer didn't do boots in size 12 at the time.

i used to love going to the rink back in the mid to late 80s. only talking to Tony Torker about it last week.

I know a very interesting fact about Bauer boots too

Me my dad and his firm were doing a big block paving job at a place called Wheat hill farm Riding stables on the edge of kirby around 20 years ago.
The customer was a Jewish business entrepreneur called David who was the first millionaire i ever met, and a very nice generous guy.
He knew we were from wigan (area) and asked me did i ever go to the roller rink, hell yea !
He told us he made some of his fortune on a flight back from america. He got talking to a guy next to him who was on his way to England to try and sell his product that had done very well in the US, "Bauer Roller Boots" David saw an opportunity so a deal was done before they landed at Heathrow.
Dave bought the rights to sell Bauer in this country. Needless to say the 80's were very good to him.
He said he still had a few pair at his house that he used for his sales pitches. but we finished the job before i got to see them.

p.s. his 15yr old daughter was bang tidy too

Its every 2nd and 4th Wednesday at Wigan rink and going to be every 1st and 3rd Wednesday at Atherton roller rink but at two thirds the size and a tile floor I don't know how the 651 axles and Belair Hockey wheels would cope!

last night was great fun place was empty skated for hours forwards and backwards at high speed

I go to every adult skate hopefully make it a regular thing, build fitness up for all the rides this year

There is a licenced bar, coffee shop, snack bar and shop so plenty to keep the non skaters busy. Plus you speed skating to watch after 9m etc

The Radsters rocked the Rink tonight and had a right good night too.

Ripping round like we were 15 again

Some even ventured onto the Expert speed skating

What bearings did u get were they the Precision NMB we used BITD ?

Mine are bog standard ones with Bellair Hockey wheels

Just been speaking with Darren Sam and he did say that maybe an R1 engine strapped to your skates might be a better option than new bearings !!
