Stripped it down last week as it goes and there are traces of purple inside the bb. Someone must have had the chrome/purple stripped off and had it coated. Don't think it's powder though, seems like some kind of plastic type coating. Was gonna just rebuild as is but thinking a fresh powder job and new stickers is in order. Didn't think Del did 90's decals.
Black with purple stickers and a few purple bits maybe.

I think i have some original white with purple outline Hyper decals somewhere

Been having a think about this and gonna ditch the purple idea. Gonna go for a re-powder and stick to same colours it is now but with a few minor changes.

Liking the blue alot... but if i change colour now i'll have to start changing other shit an i'm not sure i wanna be starting all that. $:-\$
It's ready to go back together after powder and stickers otherwise i'll be looking for new bars, seat post and a spoke change.

Wheels are sat in the attic, adorned in tyres, pumped full of air and ready for action.

The blue was a true "candy" with trans blue over chrome. Done the same way as their purple which was trans purple over chrome. It looks awesome in the flesh so definitely gets my vote. Cant stand the rubbish candy you get where its just metallic blue paint though.

This doesn't look like chrome under the blue. Looks like paint to me.

A paint job I can handle but a £300+ re-chrome with a blue overcoat is just not happening.

Think I'll stick to me original plan for now....can always come back to it.

Metro's were definitely trans blue over chrome. They also did 2 versions, the candy (bright blue) and a deep blue as well. Later on when production went to Taiwan the candy blue was just a metallic blue paint, but the frames were rebranded as Hornets not Metro's. The Hornets were only sold in Pro size not XL.
