What's Your Spring Build?
« on: January 13, 2014, 05:26 PM »
As the ride dates avalanche out of the ether, one or two have declared their interest in parts for their spring builds.

Are you building a personal grail?
Are you building your childhood bike?
Are you giving an old one a facelift?
Are you keeping it a secret until MK?

I'll go first:

My rider is getting a facelift

I wasn't going to but it all started when I bought these grips:

Then these came along:

And I couldn't say no to this then!

We're still work in progress and some of the old parts will be used, but here's a sneak:

See you all at Chester :daumenhoch: :Great_Britain:

Was going to be the Jag, really want to do a JMC but it looks like it'll be the Jag  :-\ Not convinced though as i have no 24" parts at all for it.
One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

Nick, I liked the grey and white combo, but this just looks mint up to now, a top colour paring IMHO.  :daumenhoch:

I'm just starting to look at what parts I need for Tom's Patterson  :coolsmiley:.
I'd like to have it built by Chester, but it's going to be a tough job to do that. :-\

To be honest Dan I jumped in with this as a concept, it still needs to grow on me.  "nono"
Those that have seen it love it.
I agree with the white/grey combo. Simple yet striking. :smitten:

We'll see :LolLolLolLol:

You bought that Patterson Dan?  "wantit" Fantastic. I think a few of us wanted it if I remember - No funds or room for it in my case. Made up that you've bought it & looking forward to seeing it  :D. I know you were keen to do a few race bike builds.

Looks great Nick  ;)

I am building three bikes up at the moment:

White powdered Robinson Gussett 1983
80/81 Chrome Robinson Gussett
1981 GT Pro Euro BB in chrome

And thinking of going  to a black chrome frame n forks with my other 83 GT Pro  :coolsmiley:

I then intend to return to certain builds I have to refine them

Yeah, had a chat with Tom and the deal was done.

I'm not too clued up on my Patty's, but know there was one one my wish list. It's all down to funds with me too Andy, I may just get a few bits for it, then leave it for MK, there a little Hutch I'm chasing too.  :-\ :daumenhoch:

I have two on the go at the moment...

1st up is the same model as my childhood bmx. A Falcon Pro Kappa. Have everything needed for the build except the wheels. Will hopefully get them next month. The frame & forks were in excellent survivor shape, but I wanted them to look mint, so off to Superbike Dan they went.

Here's a few pics..

and then next is the one I wanted to build since getting back into this BMX malarkey. Hutch Pro Racer. Been taking my time with this one - Almost 4 years now! Just waiting for a few parts to come back from the polishers, and then it can be built up.

Both will be done by May at the latest

2 crackers underway Andy, I'm sure.

I have the same love for a POS Falcon Pro than I do for a Hutch.  :smitten:

Thanks Dan. Me too on the POS point. Much rarer too, though not as desirable to many as Hutches, Pattersons, Skyways etc..

I'll be building this one up next, once the Race Inc is finished.

1980 CYC Stormer Semi Pro.

With these...

Already got the colour scheme sorted out, so a little bit more work on the cards for SBD.
