Thanks mate - to be honest i don't think i'm a million miles away with the parts for this now. I need to see the painted frame first and see how the MX-60's sit, then find the correct decals. I got that seat earlier so it'll retain a little patina - couldn't resist it as it was a bargain as well

Never built anything like this before so it could be an interesting one.

What's the story with the seat posts as the racing one earlier has a super bent version (kind of layback style) whereas others have straighter ones....?

I don't know if it's been addressed, but the reason the fork steerer sticks out is because the various head tubes available at the time (standard 4", 5" and a few other lengths)

Here's a few of mine with the yellow one not being a Schwinn but close enough.

Thanks for the comments and the awesome pictures. Some nice bikes there! I am still waiting for the frame to be returned from the painters (mainly because i'm not around to go and collect it at the minute), so I haven't even considered looking at the head tube issue yet. I've got quite a few of the parts i need for this build now, so it just comes down to time availability, but i'll try to keep the thread updated. I'm kind of throwing it together with a mish-mash of parts more to make it look how i want (or how the wife wants) rather than 'correct'.
