1979 MOTOBECANE 16"

My time in BMX was very much 81-84 so my knowledge of post 70s BMX is very limited, how i have found a bike that could make my collection a little more interesting.

I believe it is a 1979 but could be a 1980 . Saying that, i haven't been able to trace this bike in any catalouges etc.

My question is am i picking a up a Raleigh Burner thinking its a VDC lol

Is it worth time and effort , or is it like having a Grifter amongst a collection of Haros ?

Although im very much an 80s guy i know one day i will put together a motomag of some kind because of its history and its roots.

Any feedback or thoughts are welcomed.

From 1982:

Yours would probably be from 80 or 81 (because of the different stem) Does it say MX 40 or 41 somewhere?

It's not like having a Grifter, a Grifter is much better than that :teef:

Seriously, it's worth it if you think it is, but a 16" wheel bike with fooked forks isn't going to be something you can ride very easily
