With Christmas slowly approaching you will get people out there trying to take advantage selling pi$$ poor goods or selling bikes with misleading adverts.
We all see them report them and nothing gets done..
I thought it could be a idea if we could list links to such items put up for sale that a new radstar or newbe won't get ripped off and reason to avoid..
Here is an example..
A basic burner ..
Now with a sticker kit it's a ultra burner..

I too have been had by misleading adverts and ripped off when I first started this great hobbie.
I thought it would be a great idea to post links too ads to avoid..

I agree its safer to buy from here and I buy most if all things off here with dips

But we all won`t admit that we still buy from there..

I seriously DONT buy off there Ady, unless it's a BIN item, and it's in the region of what I would pay for it off a RAD member, give or take a quid or so. Even then, I'll have exhausted all avenues (RAD/RAD FB page).

9 out 10 of my bikes were bought on ebay, mostly on auctions, and i probably get 20-30% of my parts from there too. Make sure you know what you're buying.

I buy off eBay all the time but I know what I'm looking for and only buy what I need. Had some absolute bargains off eBay as I'm sure most of us have.

Can see where you're coming from regarding looking out for newbies but maybe it's better they post up any queries they have rather than us trawling eBay looking for misleading items... cos if I'm being honest I can't be arsed.

To be fair to Ady , i don't think it's a bad idea if it helps someone new from making a rash purchase and possibly an expensive mistake . I also agree that RADsters should do their homework and ask questions if unsure what they are buying . If they can't do it through a thread im sure the majority of established members would try and help out via a PM

I also think the forum needs more threads starting all the time , as lets face it ..... it ain't exactly busy on here

It's true that a bad experience or near miss defo opens your eyes, and makes you more cautious in future. I almost got done for £150 on one of those red anno Pro Neck stems last year (the are they repop or are they nos ones). Looked far too good, shill bidding by the seller etc. knew there was something fishy when i lost out on it by £5, then get a message from the seller 5 mins later saying the winning bidder dudn't want the item. Told him where to shove his stem and got a really nice og one off a radster the week after, and for less money. That's the power of

I thought it was just me! but it does seem very quiet on here at the moment, not much for sale there used to be frame sets and wheels all the time. And a lot of people seem to be off the radar altogether.

Yep, I got burnt on ebay when it first got going by some Yank. Been super cations ever since and always arrange to collect the gems or badly advertised bmx stuff if I win it

Mainly use it for Lego for my kids at the minute as you wouldn't believe how badly advertised it is and bargains everywhere you look
