Saying that everyone builds Zimas the same. Id sugest it needs Sens forks, 2pc bars, and 2 pegs on the one side. Build it into a proper mid trails / street / park bike, not a tank for tanks sakes.

I feel the same .. it just can't be a race bike ... but I'd love to build it really light!

I'm in negotiations with young Sen-dog about the forks ... he needs some persuasion tho!

2 piece bars and rear break only I like ... not sure of pegs on a trails bike?

Waiting for the reply from Mr Geall to see what he can add :-)

In one of the interviews ride mag did with Steve I'm sure he mentions doing the normal type of fork pictured further up the thread. I reckon it would look killer with those forks, straight rear cable, front potts mod, pegs one side & a set of slam bars

Hey Shane ... yep I'm feeling that look :-) some 95ish Slam bars would be cool ...

deffo straight rear cable ... still in two minds on a front brake ... comign round to the pegs one side idea and you and Jon are advocates ...

I think you are right about the forks being mentioned in a advert ... I will check the catalogue too ... will have to work on Senny to get the forks ... full body massage maybe

I just checked the Zima 'catalogue' and Steve had offered these s h o r t legged forks on there as an option ... so maybe not 'specifically' made from this frame but still would look cool ( and a bit different ) IMO

By the way them forks that Sen has used to be mine, the guy I got em off had Steve make em as he kept snapping his pitch forks on his dirt bike I say build a trails bike,

Me ... "Hi steve - hope all is good with you 🏼 you know I got your prototype frame from Olly .... can I ask you a couple of questions about it? 😇 did you build it to be a jump / trails / race bike ... I want to build it up but didn't want to build it as a freestyle bike if you had designed it for something else. Also were there special forks that went with this frame? A guy I know has some s h o r t leg Zima forks with no peg bosses ... where they for something special like this frame? Cheers 🏼"

Steve ... "Hey Ed. ... the frame is just a lighter version of the original ... so freestyle. As for the forks , people wanted different style forks. The s h o r t er legged ones were what someone ordered 'cause they wanted them like that. Like to see pics once you finished it"

So ... all sorted ... full back on track for a freestyle build with a big nod to various Zima builds from the past ...especially Steve's builds

I still think you should do a fairly basic build up of it. It's a prototype so build it like a test rig

Bare metal, mismatched parts & nothing too blingy on it!
That said, you'll make it look good whatever you do with it

Can't decide between the Gsport bars or Geoff Cain's 'Milky' Bars with the chrome Zima forks on the raw polished frame ... trying to match the colour of the polished copper brazing to the decals ... I might get the chrome stripped off the forks to match the Gsport bars later ... but that can wait

I've got some ACS True 100 tyres on the way from the states to run on my PE Engineering / Peregrine wheels ... Jive or Ame grips ... negotiating for a Pro III stem but I've got a inverted DK in reserve ... gonna drop the gyro but still run a Reaction Boa and potts mod ... ACS levers

Phil Sawzall is making me an extra fat seatpost ... not sure on what yet ... the frame came with a custom machined seat post clamp ... GT for the peds cranks and chainwheel

Update :

- frame rubbed down with emery paper to give a nice 'raw but rough' look ... all the cooper brazing polished up
- trial decals on thanks to Skidders Sen ... need to find a slightly different gold tho
- survivor white ACS True 100 tyres arrived
- rebuilding the wheels to have ACS RL Edge rims on the PE hubs
- fat as fook seatpost tube sourced by the Sawzaller

... hoping to get it a bit more built tonight
