1993 SE Hoffman Big Daddy finished.
« on: April 11, 2017, 08:44 AM »
So it's come quite a long way since being "found" in Chicago around a year back, but it's pretty much done.

1993 SE Racing made Hoffman Big Daddy frame and forks. 1-100 made.
Patriot bars
Peregrine Super Pro 48's
Odyssey frequency G 1.75 tyres
TNT stem
Odyssey gyro
Dia Comp Tech 77 levers
Dia Comp Nippon front brake
Dia Comp ad990 rear
Toadstool grips
Odyssey Z77 saddle
Peregrine double seat clamp
Redline Zip type post
Odyssey Excalibur opc
Odyssey 44t disc
Odyssey Dynatron BB
Odyssey VPX pedals.

I've tried to keep as close to spec as possible, but have had to make a few small substitutes here and there.

Thanks guys.
Never really been happy with this one, but seems to be getting there now. Just needs some tweaking on the decal artwork and I reckon it'll be done.

Input for the decals has come from a handful of people around the globe as no one had a full survivor set to trace / scan. I finally had the files sent which everyone's favourite decal guy finished off and printed up. I've since found out a few errors which will be running by him tomorrow to hopefully correct.

I'll try get a pic of them all sometime. I think there's 5 or 6 built up, but I'm sure I can sort the rest.

Cheers man.
They've taken some time and some sourcing, but they've all been worth it.

Got a couple more weeks garden leave after this so will try and get each one uploaded individually.

The next F&F after my pro-freestyle-tour was a 95 se-made "bigdaddy", rode that bike for 3+yrs and nether cracked or bent it there so a nice frame :) very heavy compared to the gt but built to last, I rode flat-street and mini ramp on it the angles were so spot on for everything ;) very nice build if not a little to shinny for my tastes, a cut-down plastic gt/freestyle seat would be more fitting (hardcore- stylie) :slayer: :slayer: :slayer: :slayer:

They're very nice bikes and make great builds. Have you still got it?

95 was Ramp Room, SE were one year (93) only.

sold it back in 1998 and bought a standard shorty which I still have, ive just looked up the info and the 95's were made in house :-[ I always thought SE made them untill the rounded wish bone model in 96 ::)
the 95-B/D was the last of the square wish boned models which they changed, to the chunky rounded style that was used untill production stopped >:( the E.P replaced the bigdaddy in 97...A VERY SAD DAY :'( :'( :'( :'(

The front triangle of the Big Daddy lived on in the E.P.  :daumenhoch:

a friend unluckily had the mk2 E.P, the first E.P wasn't to bad to be honest the but mk2 was terrible! the back end was very long and rear brake set up was shit, the brake plate flexed so badly that you had to zip-tie it to the seat stays :'( to make things worse you had to drill out the bolts, when they snapped in the threaded inserts on the brake bridge >:( , luckily my mate was a welder and used the lugs off the plate, re-machining them to be welded back on plus lengthening the dropout slots by about 1/2inch ;) ;) ;) ;)

Finally got around to swapping the frame for one without the seat mast trimmed. Can finally finish it to spec now I can use the TNT seat clamp.
