1994 GT Pro Freestyle Tour
« on: April 13, 2017, 03:53 PM »
This is a recent pickup for me. It's been my best and oldest mates bike from new, and despite chasing it for many years he's been reluctant to part with it.
He mentioned to me a few months back  that he was thinking of selling it, and rather than see it ebayed off never to be seen again I put my hand in my pocket and bought it.

Bike is pretty much as was apart from decal which I picked up off everyone's favourite decal guy at lunchtime today.

1994 GT Pro Freestyle Tour frame and forks
GT 4pc PFT bars
DK stem
Odyssey gyro 1
ACS Boa front
Odyssey Pitbull rear
Dia Comp tech 77 levers
ODI grips
GT 2.1 Logo tyres
Weinmann rims
Pro lite sealed hubs - have GT HF FS hubs, just awaiting refurbishment.
GT seat
Xposure seat post
GT double clamp
GT stamped Profile cranks and BB
GT chainring.
Welgo pedals.

Not entirely correct, but it's mostly how my friend had it since new so will try and keep it this way.

That is so cool  :daumenhoch: brought back some memories too! I bought a '94 pft after a little 'break' away from bmx after a back injury. Walked past my local surf/skate shop, saw it in the window & had it there & then!
Curious as to what you mean by not entirely correct?

Sorry, not entirely spec correct.
It has team spec cranks and incorrect seat and grips.

the chain wheels off a later model (95) and the stem should be a gt/power series, the seat should also be a gt padded-drop nose for a factory build, mine bent snapped and fell apart but it was a nice looking bike >:D >:D >:D >:D
one thing did survive though..well sort off!!! its stripped plus deformed in both the pedal and spindle bosses :'( :'( :'( :'(

Yep that's pretty much all it needs to be as near as damn it.
Technically it should have an OPC and GT winged disc I think.

ive found a 94 ride and the normal PFST is £499 and the team £735, anyway ive always bought stuff from last year I'm a Yorkshire man :D I seem to remember most shops always having sales on gt/dynos and mongooes, I don't think anybody ever paid the rrp anyway from ride mag! With shops like dai-leisure or cycle sport uk under cutting everybody, i got my-93 from "batley cycle sport" in 94 for around £250-300 :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley: :coolsmiley:

Don't have to tell me about hunting out bargains, I'm from York. Can't get much more Yorkshire than that! Hahaha.

Yeah thought they was about that price, I've probably also got some old Rides from around the same time. I remember these been around a similar price to my condor.

nos bars, nos saddle, nos grips, nos bashguard, chainring, seatpost, gyro cables and dimple stem.
First pictures don't show with the stem on so added one after.

And with dimple stem fitted thus evening....

Apart from GT branded hubs what I need to re lace when I get a moment it's pretty much Tour Team spec.

By the way Nick I've not forgot about the post, just had a shed load on this last couple of weeks mate.
Will catch up with you over the weekend if you're at Clee?
