1993 SE Hoffman Big Daddy (chrome)
« on: April 17, 2017, 12:21 PM »
So this is pretty much the same as my green one, except I originally got this way back in '94 of Lee Mellor who used to also ride at Rehab in Wakefield.
I sold it back in 2008 on eBay and was lucky enough to track it down again last year and buy it back. Since then it has under gone a major transformation.

1993 SE Racing made Hoffman Big Daddy frame and forks. 1-100 made.
Patriot bars
Peregrine Super Pro 48's
Odyssey frequency G 1.75 tyres
TNT stem
Odyssey gyro
Dia Comp Tech 77 levers
Dia Comp Nippon front brake
Dia Comp ad990 rear
Toadstool grips
Odyssey Z77 saddle
TNT Seatclamp
Redline Zip type post
Odyssey Excalibur opc
Odyssey 44t disc
Odyssey VPX pedals.

Included a picture of how I sold it taken by the owner who bought it from me, if anyone knows who owned this since 08 please get in touch.

Thanks Olly. So lucky to have found it again and if it was t for Dan Simon in Canada who found Bert Thomas had it in Essex I'd have never got it back.

Was half tempted to retire after getting this and the Condor back, but you know what the bug is like.

why not try and do a proper hardcore flatland set-up didn't you get some Q-BARS, with the blue b/daddy because patriots are ramp bars ;) a suntour-48 f/coaster and plastic gt/dyno chopped down seat, plus some mks/khe graphites and flipped stem would look sweet 8)

the 90s was about anything other than factory completes, that's why homeless-s&m-standard..ect never did full bikes! mk-1 graveyards are so much harder to find than patriots bars, nevermind og black mks graphite-x pedals and static or graveyard welded flange f/coasters ;) the khe lowrider stem is way rarer than rocking horse poop :D :D :D :D

He wanted to build a catalog correct bike I've had mk 1 graveyard bars and trust me se patriots are possibly some of the hardest bars to find and exchange hands for stupid money and I mean stupid! I'm not getting at you, I love a rider spec build I've built loads but I do like a catalog build, I built a 92 condor and it's hard work way harder then a rider build hence why I like this

Im building this as a rider, the SE Hoffman's are more a collection than day to day bikes.

all those odyssey parts were common off the self or order from any bike shop, vpx pedals-£12(slippy) and the cr-mo/opc-£15(weak) we all had them bitd! the Z-77seat was also very popular and loads of my mates had them to, so there must be still quite a lot floating around? as compared to rare flatland parts being that f/land was not popular, compared to street/dirt and ramp which was in the mass majority ;) the *mk-2* graveyards were the first to be imported to the uk by customriders in 95/6, the OG/BAR-TI/BAR and a year later the JESSY-P bar 8) the mk-1s never made it out of the US because they were made in such small numbers, once they became popular they had to find a bigger manufacturer! to keep up with global demand and the mk2s were born:) :) :) :)

Try find minty VPX pedal and excaliburs. Not high end, but anyone can throw a rider together with little or no effort. It's the time taken find all the correct parts and piece then all together.
Like a giant jigsaw, but you have to find and buy the pieces.

I've got 5 of these. 3 SE, 1 RR and 1 Tai so can do a rider build on any of them.

i would make the Taiwan one a rider as its not worth as much, as the US made ones and I top-tump your VPXs with peregrine "sliver" bars :daumenhoch: there really hard to find and if you do there usually trashed, but they do look very nice and ride like wise 8) also a static freecoaster with the "standard bykes 24tpi axel", plus the"graveyard-12tooth driver"upgrade, finishing with a "static 1 into 2 splitter" custom gyro cable gadget >:D not the copy primo one either....now that's a challenge of a build :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

Thanks man. The 93 Condor is a similar story, except I sold that late 90's and found it again in 201( 2 miles down the road. So lucky to have both of them back.
