Chubbys meat mallet stem project
« on: May 04, 2017, 08:44 PM »
Its been a while since i have made owt and with the workshop finally dry after the biblical flood i thought it was time i got round to honouring a promise to Rich for something a little different for his next build.

Started with the usual big block of ali with holes drilled for the stem shaft and bars  :)

In my wisdom i decided a stem cap that bolted on from the rear might be fun and wouldnt interupt the desired meat mallet look at the front  :daumenhoch:

half a day drilling 4 very long and neat holes and running the stem nervously through my woodwork router resulted in this.

I decided the other end needed a wide axe/wedge/bone crushing look to it. This also had the nice effect of revealing the long bolt holes  :)

Just need to cut through the bar section, fit a post and give it a final finish and iits all done  :)
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.
