Holá RAD'ster
I'm not a big player or by any means a knowledge Bmxarian  :LolLolLolLol: all I know is since being a kid I've loved Bmx's. Rediscovering that love over the past few years has been amazing building the bikes, meeting on the RAD rides & weekends & the bonus of seeing what beauties you all build & ride   fistblump
Well now I have acquired a very unique build which is going to break me  :'( as I can't seem to get it out of my mind to build it as close to its original parts list as I possibly can !!
Subconsciously I've already started lol & now I'm trying to fund it further with the sale of the cranks it came with.
I bought the bike not knowing much about it other than it being a Wilson with the 5" head tube some unusual drilled dropouts front & rear including the brake bridge & a bolt fior the seatpost clamp!!? [ Attachment: You are not allowed to view attachments ]
It came with miss mash parts as you will see in the photos to follow
Araya skinnies , win stem , newer Shimano DX pedals , tioga seat , can't quite make out the snake seat post stamp as its faint & the Harry Leary Turbo cranks  "wantit"
The f&f have been rattle canned & the chrome underneath is not good enough to keep imo.
After posting up on other related Bmx pages I was contacted by a guy who gave me the news that this particular frame set was built as a one off by Steve Wilson for Darren Stocks who raced for Halfords team I believe. He forwarded me some screen shots of an article from bitd with an interview with Darren a picture of him racing & his parts build list.
I was blown away as never would I have thought I would own such a unquie bike but now I do so my journey begins, it may not always be to the exact spec but I'm going to try as hard as I can as I know some of these parts are just either to rare or  explosion in price.
I already have some parts getting me on my way so it's game on  :uglystupid2: I will post as I go along with the parts I have already or will require & my progress.
I think this may be my biggest build ever & may kill me but looking forward to it & eventually riding it too  :D

Get those parts, take the time, restore as demands. It may not get a lot of recognition but stay with it.

Nice story! Look forward to seeing you rescue this from its current state!

Would also be very cool if you could share the screenshots/info you were sent ;)
