1982 Hutch Pro Racer - Hutch Sludge
« on: March 25, 2018, 01:54 PM »
Dug my lesser spotted Hutch out of the loft today and got around to taking some pictures.

1982 Hutch Pro Racer frame and forks with original paint, decals and metal worm.
Hutch gen 1 pro bars
Hutch og grips
Hutch og padset
DC Mx1000 rear calliper with centraliser
DC Tech 3 lever
Tuf Neck stem
Tange mx320 headset
Elina saddle - 82 dated
Renthal post
Tuf Neck seat clamp
Takagi opc
Tuf Neck chainring
Tuf Neck powerdisc
Sealed bearing B.B.
Shimano DX pedals
Araya Aero Rims
Suntour sealed bearing hubs
Green / Blue label comp iii tyres

As best up, battered and rusty as it is, it still feels solid and rides so smooth.

It's good to see aero's instead of the usual 7x or speedlines

Thanks for the kind words chaps.

It originally came from a lady who apparently used the race the bike in and around the Leeds area bitd. It’s pretty much as I found it, however I swapped out the CW bars which I’m not a fan of for Hutch Pro, the Elina UL / post combo for the conventional saddle and post and respoked the wheels as they were shot.

Being a survivor bike it’s often hard to know when to stop swapping and changing parts. I have another set of gen 3 profiles spare I was considering fitting either with the spider or stick with the disc. Just not sure if it would be one change too far. Any thoughts gents?

Difficult one that.  :-\ But I would now build it how you want it. It's still survivor parts.  :daumenhoch:

That's a difficult one indeed! It's a cracking bike as it is, and I love to see high end bikes running a opc, so if it were mine, I'd leave it as is. But then it's not mine, sadly! :daumenhoch:
