been wanting to do a rep of this since it was first shown in ride mag dec'05
just love the combo of mid +new school parts (well for '05!)

been slowly collecting the parts for this over the last few years:
started with my old frame -it's a tai big daddy frame with mk1 decals-would love to get a ramp room frame to be more era correct ,but due to budget/money issues will be using this

picked up a pair of oddy flatland forks off ebay for the bargain price of £10!!!!

oddy stem was bought from a member on here(can't remember who-but thanks)

will update later with more pics/build progess

next up wheel build
penegrine rims -these needed some light resto work-bit of polishing/light sanding to get most of the brake rub off -not fully show build work as they will be ridden

thanks to john4130 for the taska rear  :daumenhoch:
Thanks to Wildon for the penegrine front hub  :daumenhoch:

laced up radial  :smitten:
finished off with oddy chase g skinwall tyres

I’ve always loved the Big Daddy in the colour, will you be repainting the frame yellow as well?

not quite sure of colour yet -as the metallic grey is now pretty beat up,tempted to go for the yellow but may go for the red one from the same article  :-\

what bars you going for? dont know how easy it would be to pick up a set of contorsion bars. i have the odyssey bayou bars on my flatland bike that look quite similar.

sun was shiny today so managed to get few bits done.(had the afternoon off ,told the misses I've been cutting the grass  :-X :LolLolLolLol:)

used FSA flatland cranks as prefer these ,plus you can use profile hardware (spindle, bearings etc ,which are easier to replace)with profile hollow crank axle
went for a 30t sprocket to get clearance over rear brake -just
always thought 28t was a bit too close for rubbing on brake
teamed it up with a 12t rear coaster sprocket (thanks shane/fugazi-if you ever find any more ,let me know  :daumenhoch:
so its the same as 42/16 so will be ok for flat ,not too spinny

finally got to complete the build today
added oddy 99er seat/micro adjust seatpost +gt double clamp

used oddy day smith pegs

finished build pics

took it for a spin today .just love the way it rides-nice +quick but not too whippy as some nu school flat bikes feel,
just need to try these two tricks now  :LolLolLolLol:

Wow looks fantastic, great work!

I really should build my 94 as a rider seeing as the 93’s are pretty much factory spec queens.

Awesome job dude! Love it. What brake did you use to get clearance with such a small chainring?

Yeah it's just a regular dia compe hombre, just made sure the rear end was kept fairly short.
With the 30t chainring not too bad for clearance as long as chain is not too slack- Kevin ran a 28f on his bike though
