Hinged DC rivet replacement
« on: June 16, 2019, 10:24 PM »
Has anybody successfully replaced the rivet/pin on an og DC hinged seat post clamp ? It should be possible with a press and a compatible rivet/pin. I've seen one which has a nut and bolt replacing the original rivet/pin but it doesn't look too pretty.
Low end French does it for me ! 😂

Yep, Steve "Animal" is your man for these, I think he welded up a jig from old Apollo spacecraft parts and unobtainium or something, but it works :daumenhoch: :2funny:
Still limping......

Myself sent Steve a nice private message well over a month ago to do exactly the same thing, but unfortunately no response.
He hasn’t been on here that much recently, the last message posted he was having some personal issues unfortunately.
I do hope he is ok  fistblump

Thanks Ady, I thought I recognised the name from some posts. I hope for the same too.

Steve... If you see this, sorry I didn't realise. Hoping things are on the up for you. No pressure to reply to my pm.

Well ..
Steve is the man..
I only posted them Friday , and today I had a small familiar package.
Inside originally was the four damaged overtightened ( not by me  ::) ) clamps I posted.
With Steve’s magic touch , he made good two..
Sad as I am he has made a old fart well happy .
Had these bits for sometime , was a shame to let them go , so they live another day ..
Top work Steve..
I wish I had your skills mate..
All the best.. fistblump
