MK - 19: My trip from Germany to MK
« on: August 12, 2019, 04:46 PM »
What a weekend and what a great experience that was.  :smitten: It was my first trip to the UK ever, and to combine that with finally meeting up with the RAD-family and all the RADsters I became friends with over the years - well, it couldn't get any better.

It didn't work out for me in previous years to come over, due to several issues that got in the way. But to not miss another opportunity, I've saved some cash here and there over the last two years and as soon as I had the money for the tickets I immediately booked the flight. I only had to sort out then how I would get from the airport to MK and where I'd have a place to sleep or stay for the weekend.
At this point - a massive thanks to Griff for inviting me to take the free spot in your room and for picking me up at London Heathrow. Without your support it all would have been impossible for me.  fistblump
Although I was really tired when we arrived at MK 'cause I didn't sleep the night before the flight, it was mind-blowing and heartwarming to get such a warm welcome by all the RAD-legends. It was like we knew each other for 20 years. The list would be too long to mention each one of you and I would probably forget to mention some of you as I'm still too overwhelemed.

The practice on Friday already was a cracker but Saturday night almost deleted half of my vocabulary as it was just epic.  ;D
Radsters, you lot are the nicest, funniest and defo the coolest people I've ever met.

Last but defo not least I have to say a huge thanks (there aren't any words for my feelings really) to Ant-Factory Pilot and Andy-DTTDB not just for putting up the most epic event I've ever been to, but especially for sorting me a lift back to the airport and making the effort driving me back to Heathrow on Sunday morning, although you both had so much other stuff to sort at the same time.  :smitten:    :4_17_5:

To all of you Radsters, Radmins, Rad-Legends and Northern Monkeys it was way more than a pleasure to meet and spend the weekend with you.  :daumenhoch:

... finally I'll try to share some pics I took  :)

Cheers Nick  :daumenhoch: I was asking some of the Radmins if you would be there too, but they told me that you unfortunately couldn't make it. Would have been great to meet you there too.
I really hope I can repeat this and come over again.  :)

Excellent stuff Andy! Thanks for the pics too!! Sounds (and looks) like you had a great time - as if that was ever in doubt! :daumenhoch:

I don't make it back to the UK very often (the last time was 4 years ago) but if my next visit coincides with MK, then hopefully I'll see you there! In the meantime, keep it  :radbmxsmilie:

PS That yellow Slingshot is stunning!! :smitten:

Great to meet you Andy and glad you got sorted getting home  :daumenhoch:
Once the dust settles I will have a look for those brake pads  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.

I had about 20 more from the epic Saturday night, but either my eyesight got sh.. at that time already or the wind must have been too strong for my skinny frame.  ;D They turned out blurry.

Glad you like the pics Mick.  :)  I didn't expect anything so I really could soak it all in and enjoy the rad family-vibes.  :daumenhoch: Pictures can't really tell what it's like to be there.  :4_17_5:
If I can make it next year it would be fantastic to see you there and having a nice chat in person.  :daumenhoch:

It was a real pleasure to meet you Clint!  I really enjoyed our chat a lot.  :daumenhoch:
How everybody was taking care of me and helped sorting my way back to the airport was just stellar.  :4_17_5: I even lost my wallet on Saturday with my ID-card and all that in there, but some nice person found it and handed it over to the hotel crew. Still don't know who it was.

Take your time to find that box, I'm not in a hurry.  :daumenhoch:

The pleasure is/was all mine my friend! ...but I snore way better intonated than you do.  :teef:
In fact I woke up Saturday night by some snoring noise, but it wasn't you, it was me.  :2funny: Next time we make sure there's a conductor in our room and then we make it a MK-sonata.  :daumenhoch:

No apologies needed my friend. We had a couple of propper hugs at a fabulous weekend and it was so good to finally meet you. You worked tirelessly over the weekend just as you did in the preperation of the event. I was glad to see you finding time enjoying yourself.  :4_17_5:
As I got adopted by the NM's now  8) , there's a good chance to make good for a chat whilst having a curry.  :daumenhoch:
