Skyway Tuff wheels debate? opinions? Discuss
« on: June 13, 2020, 02:08 PM »
With all the Skyway Tuff wheels popping up on ebay it's made me think?   In your opinions should people be listing all types of these wheels as 'old skool'/'old school' ???

In my humble opinion only alloy/metal hubs and loose ball hubbed skyway Tuff's are worthy of being called this  :daumenhoch:

The newer sealed bearing and UT versions I'd say are not!  and it bugs the sh*t outa me when people do not disclose that they are the newer versions  :knuppel2:

so what do you guys think?

I think alot of people are buying them not knowing the difference and I dare say still not knowing the difference when they are fitted.

It seems at the moment on the bay peeps are searching for bits they want and buying em whatever!
Even burner prices have rocketed!

Its def a Sellers market there at the moment but any deals I have done with fellow radsters has been kept 'real' prices

I think it may change once peeps are back (hopefully back!) At work.

Well let's hope it does change otherwise we will be talking about 'old school' prices too!!

I've been told buy a creditable source that white tuff's (and other colours) will be back in stock very soon, its worldwide lockdown that has delayed them reaching these shores so everybody who's paid over the top will be gutted  ;D  especially as people are saying you cant get them anymore?  "nono"

Ahh, that makes sense, interesting. Will be funny to see if/when they do start to resurface through normal shopping channels.

The other one that annoys me is when sellers aren't completely transparent when trying to sell newer Kashi's. And the ones who strategically photo repo mushies  :tickedoff:

There was an idiot on here a few yrs ago who openly admitted to selling new tuffs advertised as old ones on ebay.....name rhymed with Coont. If i were selling some new ones you would be silly NOT to put 'old school' in the title but the description should tell the truth. Look out also for Re issue Oakley B1-B's with crud plugs or griploks to disguise them!

Apart from the Plastic / Alloy Hubs on Tuffs whats the biggest giveaway they are 80s Tuffs.

I remember ordering (think it was 2004) Tuff wheels when they were releaed again in the States. Much better than the one's now.

I think the prices are crazy. I just can't see why they are in such high demand. People will be a bit gutted when the stocks arrive again knowing they have paid 3 times the amount  :D
