Would you have used stick on numbers , back in the 70,s ??
« on: December 01, 2006, 05:10 PM »

I am restoring a  1979  mongoose  Roger decoster....    Ive got hold of a NOS  black oval number plate, and thought a number  79 would look good.
Question is ....back in the 70,s would you have used stick on vinyl numbers?   or would it look better with hand painted numbers ,  like I know alot of the old Moto-x bikes tended  to have  ::)

My Goose that I got in the late 70's had a plate on it with number 7 on it that I got from a car/motorbike parts shop. I only got it because it was the same as the one that Barry Sheene had. :)

the first computer controlled sticky plotter was invented in 1988
-twas the gerber 4b

-die cutting of sticky letters, were being done since the invetion of sticky stick stick
-ie bent blades -pressed into sticky stick stick

-hand cutting of numbers was done too

signwriting and stone cutting was being done for ages
