different generation, different tricks. a lot of old school flatland is easier with the bars forward. as most old schoolers were all rounders they rode the same for ramps.

I once put motorbike  clip on ace bars on my redline which allowed me to drag my elbows and knees on the ground :idiot2:anyone else remember doing that ???

the reason bars were forward on burners is obvious, its because gypsys rode them and they used the bars as a platform to advertise thier wares, lucky heather, clothes pegs and the like. :LolLolLolLol:

I used to ride with my bars slightly forward, just over vertical to get a bit of lift for wheelies, ground tricks and jumping.  Too far forward and the steering became sketchy and twitchy.  IMHO, Burners were always too far forward for two reasons, first the riders rarely ever got them odd the ground due to the geometry so ran them further forward to get as much lift as possible.  Secondly they were too stupid to tighten their stems up properly so the bars slipped further forward when landing with all that weight behind it  :LolLolLolLol:

This Burners with the bars so far forward is a pain the a$$... There are quite a few on the Burner Forum who insist that its the only way they can fit on the bikes and ride them.

Now either they all have 5ft arms or like to ride their bikes at FUUUULLLL stretch... I dunno... but either way I do mention it quite alot when people post up pictures of their new builds.

Not only does it look ridicolous, you cannot control the bike properly and its unsafe.

This is the angle I tend to use on my Burners/Gypsy Bikes...

Apart from this one... which I built in protest/humour at some of the 'monstrosities' that were being put together on the Burner Forum.

Thats what i originally meant :LolLolLolLol:bars slightly forward makes sense if thats what feels good to you.......the point i was making was why in the hell would you want to have your bars forward so they look stupid when your building burners at 40 years old
