So before we got totally obsessed with era corectness and factory / rider specs, I'm sure most of us threw together some builds without as much obsession and attention to detail  :D

So come on - let's see 'em  :LolLolLolLol:

Here's my first 2..........

Originally I told myself I just wanted 2 geese and one of them was to ride  :2funny: :LolLolLolLol:

So I originally built this to ride but it didn't last long like this :

1982 mongoose (chrome)

My 2nd build was constantly changed and tweeked until I was eventually happy with it and I finally finished it how I wanted it last month with more era correct parts:

LINK TO HOW IT IS NOW: http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=97382.0

But originally it had a similar look to it, but a mish-mash of parts from different eras -

I was happy at the time (how things change ! :2funny: )

1980 mongoose (nickel)

So come on lads show us your early builds  >:D :LolLolLolLol:

mongoositis - an expensive disease......

My custom Viper, first bike I put together.

This was my first build on getting into O/S collecting  :)

Was Carlo Griggs bike in 89/90  8)

I rebuilt it like this , not brilliant I know but I didn't know whats parts were really available at the time  :-\
and I wasn't a member on RAD till about 8 months after I'd built it

I really liked  this frameset , kept it for a couple of years , but then sold it to Cotty

Who did it real justice by going to the trouble of replicating the colour and a few choice parts that were originally on the bike Perigrinne 48's ,etc
You may have seen it at MK09  :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

How much better does that look  :4_17_5:

Heres mine, built nearly 2 years ago with a real mish mash of parts (most of which werent era correct).  Sold it to fund my Streetbeat, that I sold to find my Quadangle, that I recently sold to Thailand.

Loved it at the time, but it was built with loads of cheap no name parts.  Its got budget first build written all over it, from the mid school GT clamp, to the cheap halfords special wheels (20 quid for the pair - with tyres!!!) to the star spanngled grips.

My very first build, again a real mixture of old, Mid and new. Basically fitted things i liked from BITD and were still available.

I would never build another bike like this now, era correct from now on.

One build a year, the only way to get it right. No rushing involved.

Not quite numero uno but one of them from the first 6 months I got hooked, this is the earliest build I could find. 2004 that would have been.

My first two builds.

Bought the frame by accident one night on ebay and that was it. Never looked back.

Then decided I'd better do a race bike as well.  :LolLolLolLol:

I'd love to know what happened to my Sport though. Sold it to motomagII and he can't remember who he sold it too.  :'( Not to worry, I'll get another one, one day.
