Old School BMX 1980 - 1988 > Old School Freestyle (frame stands and kickturns galore!)
dan's haro
theRuler:
this is dan and his haro
he comes with us to southsea most years, and, most years, comes away itching to build a bike
hearing me bang on about old school bmx's last year added more fuel to the fire
8 months and a fair few hundred quid later he has this built up, for regular use:
84 fst frame and forks
arayas, dia compe brakes, new school flites etc etc
ALL nos!!!
he also has a superfox, that is stripped and ready to rebuild (he took that to bristol meet last year), and is scouring ebay constantly - phoning me up with item numbers.
the fst rides really nice. bars need to come back a little though . . .
he used to ride back in the day at the same time as me and for some reason hasnt managed to shake the bmx bug from his system :)
RADHAB:
Thats nice, i like that :daumenhoch:

the build wasnt without it's issues though:
first of all the powerlite stem. brand new - doing up the bars stripped 2 of the threads out of the stem, with no bother at all. not using a giant wrench - the stem is made of cheese
new redline flite cranks - one of the pinch bolts snapped whilst doing it up. poor. the cheaper proline crank has one bolt (instead of 2 on the flite) but it is a bigger bolt - stronger. not impressed at all with these flites.
the NOS dia compe brakes - comedy ALLOY nuts on the cable clamps. the nut had dissolved before even getting the cable tight!
