New Custom Paint Job for the Skyway
« on: June 06, 2012, 01:59 PM »
Well,
A lot of you know that when it comes to my daily riders I dont normaly go with the standard colours.

My first effort at building o/s bikes (Skyway) was a bit of an abomination   :idiot2:  :-[

Next one went quite well  (CW)  :coolsmiley:

So i thought it was about time to get the Skyway "redressed" and thought fook it lets go a bit nuts again  ;)
Been trawling sites and powder suppliers for wot seem like forever as i had an idea of what i wanted (the old copper bronze on the 70's 911's) be couldn't find it ...until today :daumenhoch:
Company called www.prismaticpowders.com  in the US are sending me over a 1lb of Cosmic Chrome and a 1lb of Penny Gold....Really looking forward to sending this to Dan as soon as the powder arrives  :daumenhoch:

Thoughts please  :-*

I'd say a white seat clamp would look ace on the skyway, but if it's going to be a 70s colour then it gets my thumbs up  :D

I think it's gonna look superb Alec, I really wanted to do my Mini Torker in a Copper plate finish but couldn't get any guarantees on how long before it started to tarnish. I can't wait to see it done. :smitten:

I guess thats wot i expected...a bit of a mixed bag cant please all of ya  ;)

I'd say a white seat clamp would look ace on the skyway, but if it's going to be a 70s colour then it gets my thumbs up  :D

The white DC Seat Clamp went on it mate a few years back along with a white seat post and it looked alright, just to much of the blue on that build.

I think it's gonna look superb Alec, I really wanted to do my Mini Torker in a Copper plate finish but couldn't get any guarantees on how long before it started to tarnish. I can't wait to see it done. :smitten:

I always liked the baby blue (esp with those tuffs) but the copper should look good I reckon

couldn't find a copper one, but did find a gold-plated one
