BRITS 2012-DATE CHANGE
« on: July 20, 2012, 10:52 AM »
BC have/will announce that the Brits date has changed to 15/16 September..:( twats.
Due to circumstances out of the organiser’s control, the British BMX Championships will be moving one week earlier to the 15th and 16th of September. With a choice of moving the event to a new location, cancelling or accepting the date change, it was considered that keeping the event at Broadway House and accepting the date change was the best option.

...

The Holiday Park has changed hands several times in recent years and although the BMX track has remained relatively unaffected, the rumours of re-development were always in the background. Unfortunately, the current owners wish to completely re-develop the park and they have ordered the park to be closed by the 17th of September. BMX isn’t the only event to be affected, as several other groups have had their bookings cancelled including Octoberfest UK. The closure will also result in the removal of the BMX track, so this event will be the last one ever held at Broadway House.

It's a shame there'll be change of venue in 2013  - Cheddar is such a great location for those travelling from Scotalnd and the North (how do I add a sarcastic emoticon?)

Seriously though - it's a shame to hear of any BMX track closing and this date chance is gonna put a lot of people out.

A total farce and I`m disgusted that BC haven`t done more to rectify it.I`ve rebooked but still lost money and several of our club members have decided to boycott the Brits this and any other year.UK BMX shat on again >:(

It's absolute bollocks and totally out of order, in these hard economic times how BC have let this happen to their members is incomprehensible tbh :tickedoff:

I'm glad we made the decision never to go to Cheddar again when they were awarded the Brits so many years in a row, smelt a rat then  :daumenhoch:

Tis indeed a sad situation.Bren has posted some info that wasn`t mentioned before and is pretty relevent.Heard plenty of talk about boycotts but think there`ll be a significant reduction in attendance due to the date change anyway.Damaging to BMX and to B.C regardless of whose fault it is.. JJ pointed out in another thread that the B.C (non BMX) bigwigs are probably unaware & don`t care. It`s time that they changed their closed mind attitude to BMX-it`s on the up in all aspects & will survive with or without B.C.
