can the tuff brakeing surface be improved

i got better out back, diatech hombre u-brake. them things will stop a mack truck!!! LOL
and the 900's up front work great with everything except these tuffs. so is their anything i can do to the braking surface to make it better.

brand new animal illegal cables, its a quality braking system but is their anything i can do to make the BRAKEING SURFACE better. theirs probly things i can do to make the brakes better but im broke i just need to know if theirs something i can go to make the surface grip better, the tuffs are like 3 days old and the surface slides like grease. and YES ive cleaned the rims.

Have you had a look on some trials forums? - I think the trials boys used to rub a block of tar on the braking surface - may help if a little grabby...
