Don't know how I missed this thread before...  :idiot2:
Rippers and T/a's have no place on a freestyle list...Sure, they were USED for freestyle but only cos there were no lternatives...Craig Campbell rode a Street Beat when they came out...
For me would have to be, in no particular order

1. Haro Gen 1/ Master (more or less same thing!)
2. Gt Performer
3.Street Beat
4.Redline RL 20
5. Haro Sport
6.Hutch Trick Star

I know they're not to everyones (anyones) taste but for me an early Dyno Compe with the bent front forks would have to make the list. The frame itself (and the GT it was based on) spawned every cheap chrome tat frame from the far east to come out for 20 years afterwards and every competitive event I saw pictures of back then had the Dyno logo just about everywhere.

Gertcha!

And the one I never saw in the flesh but pictures made me go all funny was the California Freestyle. I think it was the logo more than anything.

GT Performer all the way.

But.... This poll is the most Iconic not the best bike, so why are we forgetting the bike that most of us started on? The Iconic Raliegh Tuff Burner, I got mine  when I  was 11/12,so it was 1981, was a springboard to better bikes. I still remember the hot day Dad got me this, I can still smell the cut grass on our front lawn that had just been mowed, inspirational to me, it's parked at the back, but it's still at the front as far as iconic BMX bikes go!

Totally agree Jas ..
We "ALL" well most of us cut our teeth on these as back then that was all that was thrown at us (all we could afford)
My bro had the tuff I had the Ultra in Chrstmas `81  and my sis had the extra (used once and left out the back  :knuppel2:)
I loved that bike spent all my time on this for two summers till I got fed up snapping frames I saved up for a Rebel.
Of course we all dreamed of having what the "mag boys" was riding but lack of funds or having to wait for Christmas .
Honestly out of my collection my ultra burner is my Iconic bike..great times.. :'(

Haro Freestyler
Haro Master
Haro Sport
Haro FST
GT Pro performer
Hutch Trickstar
Skyway Street Beat

Agree about the Tuff burner being iconic but it's not a freestyle bike, this is most iconic freestyler not street bikes

1. Haro Gen 1
2. GT Performer
3. Skyway T/A - didn't almost everybody use them for freestyle at some point bitd?
4. Haro Master
5. Haro Sport/FST - listing them as 1 as they are the same shape
6. Skyway Streetbeat

7 would be Hutch Trickstar

From 86 to 89 i say the Hutch Trickstar was the most iconic bmx as everyone rode them as all the top vert riders had them and by then it was only the sports and masters you saw as other riders .But different areas of the country had different things as i`m from london and i never saw a vdc bitd as never rode race tracks ,you saw a lot of performers around chingford area because of the ramp
