A bit closer to home now. I took these early to mid eighties shots during a session at Stiffneck's ramp,close to Alan's original shop in Hindley near Wigan.

In the spring of 1985 I got the go-ahead from my boss at Manchester City Council to build a state of the art half-pipe in one of the squash courts at the Ardwick Sports Centre. I'd already acquired the ramp plans from the U.S. the year before so we were all set to make the leap from home-made backyard ramps to a pro-rated vert ramp.
