disapointing Elf DoubleCross
« on: August 30, 2007, 03:11 PM »
was lookin forward to building this as i really liked the wheels and based the build on them, but i reckon it looks shite or im just not used to it, the flexfighter needs to be black and is needed coz there is only 7" rise on the bars, it ride fookin awesome but im probably gonna strip it n start again, thats one ugly fookin seat as well, please be brutally honest and let me know what ya think, it may save it, but i doubt it at mo.

parts:
Elf pro f/f
Elf pro bars 29" wide, 7" rise (obsurd)
Elf seat post
Elf seat (yukky fookin yuk)
Strong products stem (may be coming up for sale)
GT profiles 180
crupi square pros
mcs chainring
mirage disc
pittbull II brake (dreading setting it up, but its fookin elish)
dc clamp (to be replaced with DK)
oddysey T1000s, black flame, black spokes, silver hubs n gold nips

It's not that bad! I've never liked ELF bars (i'd bin them) and those seats all need to be destroyed! But other than that it's a nice bike!

nowt wrong with that at all!!! agree that black flexfighter would look better, not sure about bars mind. bit odd looking.
possibly swap bars for regular style set, if you had 8" plus rise, could bin flexfighter then. i can't get used to the look of a bike with flexfighter fitted. and the seat!!!!!! i'm afraid i don't mind that particularly. great looking machine nevertheless.
and you think it rides awesome. should save that one. even as it is. but maybe regular bars. then it'll look the nuts.

Ditch the seat, looks a bit w4nk; not too keen on the gold bits - not enough of it really to make it stand out and it gets a bit lost and patchy looking.  The bars are really wide, be interested to see how it rides.  I liked my ELF bars but they were not as wide  :D.  Other than that I think it looks good  ;).

PS, have a chat with Del and see if he can knock up some decals - they will make a huge difference to the look of it  :daumenhoch:

what size of frame is that, it looks like a mini or something? its real short looking and the angles look too mellow.

i think its the lack of decs on it and the shorter stem and the fook weird bars n shit, its a pro 20"/19.5"  top tube, its exactly the same top tube length as my haro sport. check out what ive done to it in tuther thread.
