Great bikes. Pro star is incredible. Almost too good. That's why I went for the Ruffel burner. Just sums up the era in the UK for me. Thanks to whoever gave my Falcon Pro a vote other than mine. Might have to bring a 'big gun' out next year. :daumenhoch:

Thanks for the kind words and votes for the pro star guys - it's very flattering to be up there with some right corkers, there's a whole bunch of them I'd like to own. Standards been amazing - and we get on with it as a bit of a laugh amongst friends. They've just had the OS-BMX boty in US and the amount of politics and bickering that's been going on over a hobby is crazy, and getting mates to join for rogue votes! All very serious stuff to them. Pro star came 2nd by the way on OS in it's catergorie - always the bridesmaid never the bride me

That's such a hard decision. Looking at the main thread there are some fab bikes in there. Which makes this short list the creme de la creme. What do you go for? The clean looks of a NOS build or the amazing AR repro. I remember seeing some of these in pics from MK07. They must look the dogs in the flesh.

Well done all, not just the short list but to everyone who likes pulling parts and bikes to show a thing or two to the new school era.  :daumenhoch:

Respect to everyone who entered and took the time to build all these amazing bikes  :daumenhoch:

I couldnt pick an overall best build as in my opinion it came down to 2 or 3 so i based my final vote on the whole package, the bike the presentation and the photography.

That isn't strictly true though, some of the people you have contacted who you don't know, haven't made comments about your bike.

Look matey, if you are so desperate to win you have to go to these lengths thats up to you.

As for contacting people via PM who you don't know asking to vote for your bike on a Burner forum i'm a Mod ain't right IMO, when you know i'm in the final as well, and its not fair on the 6 other finalists either.

Didn't you do this on on another OS comp recently as well, asking people to vote for you from this and other forums, when there were other people on this forum who were in the same comp.

Its called rigging.

NO M8 ITS ASKING FOR SUPPORT FROM THE BURNER COMMUNITY, SUPPORT WHICH YOU WHERE HAPPY TO HAVE WHEN YOU WON IN 2005.

AS FOR ASKING FOR PEOPLE TO VOTE ON THERE BIKES IN OTHER COMPS MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE A POP AT STIDDS THEN WHO HAS POSTED A THREAD ASKING FOR PEOPLE TO SUPPORT HIS BIKE IN THE OS-COMP YOU ARE REFURING TO. AND YOU KNOW WHAT J I VOTED FOR HIM BECAUSE I WANT TO SHOW MY SUPPORT FOR HIS BULID AND IT WOULD BE GREAT IF HE WINS, WHAT THE FOOK IS WRONG WITH THAT THEN

THREAD HERE FOR YOU TO READ THEN YOU CAN POST AT THE BOTTOM THATS IS NOT FAIR AND CHUCK YOUR DUMMY OUT OF ITS PRAM

STIDDS YOU BAD MAN HOW DARE YOU :LolLolLolLol:

Theres a difference between asking your mates to vote for you, and asking publicly on a forum to vote.-if you had done it publicly on the burner forum- fair enough.

But Pm'ing individuals you dont know saying "My Bike is on Radbmx BOTY competition could do with your vote" is not right IMO.

I could do with their vote as well, and so could the other 6 finalists. I know exactly how many people you have PM'd over there.

No its not jealousy mate. I think your bike is lovely, always have said that.

Yes you voted for stidds bike, good on ya, did he PM you to vote for it though ? I doubt it. There's a difference.

I can't look at PM's on the forum Jimmy, Mods can't do that. Ask Beard he will tell you that.

I had the Pm's from the people you asked to vote for you, saying they thought it was wrong. Theres probably more as well.

No one has been lookin' at pms jimmyp, trust me on that one !!

If you look on OS bmx there is a stickyed thread regarding this same matter... bringing pals into vote for you.

And if I'm honest I did wonder if it was because of you this post had been put up there... I dunno... your bike came second in probably the most popular section over there when you had said that they weren't even really aware of raleigh & ruffell...

If I was an outsider I'd probably think otherwise .... likewise with stidds I posted in his thread... the second one to that one you posted just saying they take it very seriously etc etc... a word of warning.  I think if you're gonna win then do it with a bit more dignity ... I didn't mind you pm'n me asking for a vote... as I consider you a mate, and you know I like that bike... a few here and there is fine but to perhaps try go out of your way to push the whole thing is a bit too much in a competition situation like this.

Where do you draw the line though, & how could it ever be stopped... how serious is this comp ?? Guess it boils down to the individual really.

Like the whole 'price your items' in for sale discussion I think it probably needs some thought.

like springers last words... LOL...

O

Look guys...

Everybodys bike on here is the best, we all are fans of particular makes, or models...but I cant think of anybody on here who regardless of whether their bike is a showstopping minter or a well used hack doesnt love their bike(s) to bits and maybe that's why squabbles sometimes will break out.
But c'mon is it really that important, everytime I walk into my bike room I take pride in what I have achieved, curse myself for not having bought a bigger house and scheme as to how I can get 'just one more' in there  :)

BMX is about friends, not fights  :daumenhoch:

at the end of the day the best /  most admired bike will win simple as! regardless of any pm's sent - i'm sure we will all vote for the bike we most like!

As i see it there hasn't been any bribes sent out - no promises of busty MILF's or winning lottery tickets - we all just vote for the bike most deserving of the title.

And thanks to those that voted for my GT  - i didn't get a chance to add my own vote, but thanks for those that did  :daumenhoch:

Definitely mate.

I've still not finished the second build yet. Once I do, i'll put pics up on here of course. It'll look sh1t compared to most on here but all my bikes are for riding, not putting on the wall.

Need two more chrome ones to complete my childhood dream build and my childhood bike. That'll have to wait for the time being though I think.

The T/A is the best looking bike of the 80s as far as I am concerned.

Thanks for all the very generous comments guys - I'm so stoked to win because the standard was truly knockout, it could have gone any direction for so many reasons, resto's, history, survivors, replica's, customs, originals etc, they all deserve recognition, well done!  There were loads of bikes I'd love to own, but I'm a bit skint after that one........

 :LolLolLolLol:

Thanks again, have a good year,
mark

Wow, thanks for the votes guys!  I didn't figure to win with all the excellent stuff in here and was surprised to be in the final cut.  I did want to make sure to put the TA in for the UK BOTY since it's history is completely tied to that trip in 1984 and the Action Bike coverage.  Freakin' cool thing to be able to have that bike back together and that wouldn't have happened without in the help of a lot of people.  US, UK and Australian provided stuff is on that bike so it was an international restoration which is fitting for it's history and what that whole trip meant to me personally broadening the horizons of my no car having family, poor-azz kid in the city, barely traveled out of town before that roots.

Props to everyone running this site and all the excellent bikes entered.  RADBMX rocks!
