have to agree there !! BLING !! BLING !! 8) 8) 8) I voted for mark's bike in the 1st round !
-
Bugger missed the final round by one vote :( And I didn't vote for myself :tickedoff:
I think markj is the man this year :daumenhoch:
-
Great lineup there... all totally full of greatness....
well done.
Owen
-
... think more votes could be had if a pic of each bike is posted at the top of this thread though... ;)
A gentle reminder as it were...
-
just voted, tough choice as they all cracking builds :daumenhoch:
-
Great bikes. Pro star is incredible. Almost too good. That's why I went for the Ruffel burner. Just sums up the era in the UK for me. Thanks to whoever gave my Falcon Pro a vote other than mine. Might have to bring a 'big gun' out next year. :daumenhoch:
-
took a while but my vote cast now ;)
-
Vote cast.
Tough choice...Gotta say that the Hutch Pro Star is sweet :smitten:
-
Thanks for the kind words and votes for the pro star guys - it's very flattering to be up there with some right corkers, there's a whole bunch of them I'd like to own. Standards been amazing - and we get on with it as a bit of a laugh amongst friends. They've just had the OS-BMX boty in US and the amount of politics and bickering that's been going on over a hobby is crazy, and getting mates to join for rogue votes! All very serious stuff to them. Pro star came 2nd by the way on OS in it's catergorie - always the bridesmaid never the bride me
:LolLolLolLol:
-
Thanks Owen, I did intend to post up some pics of the bikes but it got a bit late last night :daumenhoch:
-
Damn, that was a tough decision but my votes in now. Good luck everyone ... they're all great builds :4_17_5:
Steve
-
Thanks Owen, I did intend to post up some pics of the bikes but it got a bit late last night :daumenhoch:
That's cool ... I thought you were maybe going to.
I love all these bikes... to vote for just one is difficult !!
-
bugger....thought I had until the end of today for my 3 votes! Been too busy over xmas to do it.
-
hoffman all the way, didnt a hutch pro star win MK 06 ?
-
Well I have voted for a freestyle bike, but it`s not a Hoffman ::)
-
All mint bikes guys, love the Floval and the Candy Blue Hutch! :daumenhoch:
Steve P where do you get the Radical Rick images from?
Cheers
-
well im going to vote for mine this time.......................................
............................................................
.............................................................
AHH ROLLOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
That's such a hard decision. Looking at the main thread there are some fab bikes in there. Which makes this short list the creme de la creme. What do you go for? The clean looks of a NOS build or the amazing AR repro. I remember seeing some of these in pics from MK07. They must look the dogs in the flesh.
Well done all, not just the short list but to everyone who likes pulling parts and bikes to show a thing or two to the new school era. :daumenhoch:
-

Thanks m8 :LolLolLolLol:
-
Holy Hell that was hard
Respect to everyone who entered and took the time to build all these amazing bikes :daumenhoch:
I couldnt pick an overall best build as in my opinion it came down to 2 or 3 so i based my final vote on the whole package, the bike the presentation and the photography.
Good luck to all :4_17_5:
-
ALL 3 OF THE BIKES I VOTED FOR MADE THE FINAL.. 8) (I must have good taste... :2funny:)
VOTED. :Great_Britain:

Thanks very much. I think it is important to recognise the less high profile bikes as thats what most kids were riding bintd unless your parents were filthy rich or you were good enough to be sponsored :coolsmiley:
-
none of my top 3 made the final, jimmy got my vote, my god i voted for a burner, but with all the work that has gone into that build you deserve to win imho well to all :daumenhoch:
-
bloody hell owen i've just trawled through the whole of the original BOTY thread and then i notice you've put the final list up :tickedoff: :4_17_5:
none of my 1st choices went through, but well done to everyone who took part,i'm in awe of all of you for the time and effort put in.
priv

Sorry priv.. the idea was to stop people doing that... I knew there would be one or two who would still lol...
It should be put in the top post I think... not my forum though. ;)

And the voting is a secret ;) ;D

Shame you couldn't have done that in the final round as well then eh jimmy - give the other finalists an honest chance, instead of asking people you dont even know to vote for you via PM on other forums.
I'm sure you'll beat me in the final by a lot more than 1 vote :LolLolLolLol:

Julian i have i done somthing to offend you, why are you all of a sudden trying to diss me for no reason. What i do and who i ask to vote on my bike has got fook all to do with you m8. People have asked me to vote for there bike and i have asked people to vote for my bike. I have only asked people i know and who have made nice comments on the bike, :wtf: IS YOUR PROBLEM :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
-
That isn't strictly true though, some of the people you have contacted who you don't know, haven't made comments about your bike.
Look matey, if you are so desperate to win you have to go to these lengths thats up to you.
As for contacting people via PM who you don't know asking to vote for your bike on a Burner forum i'm a Mod ain't right IMO, when you know i'm in the final as well, and its not fair on the 6 other finalists either.
Didn't you do this on on another OS comp recently as well, asking people to vote for you from this and other forums, when there were other people on this forum who were in the same comp.
Its called rigging.
-
:LolLolLolLol: ffs here we go "radpads at dawn!!" let the fight begin , i smell a rat :knuppel2: :knuppel2: :knuppel2:

NO M8 ITS ASKING FOR SUPPORT FROM THE BURNER COMMUNITY, SUPPORT WHICH YOU WHERE HAPPY TO HAVE WHEN YOU WON IN 2005.
AS FOR ASKING FOR PEOPLE TO VOTE ON THERE BIKES IN OTHER COMPS MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE A POP AT STIDDS THEN WHO HAS POSTED A THREAD ASKING FOR PEOPLE TO SUPPORT HIS BIKE IN THE OS-COMP YOU ARE REFURING TO. AND YOU KNOW WHAT J I VOTED FOR HIM BECAUSE I WANT TO SHOW MY SUPPORT FOR HIS BULID AND IT WOULD BE GREAT IF HE WINS, WHAT THE FOOK IS WRONG WITH THAT THEN
THREAD HERE FOR YOU TO READ THEN YOU CAN POST AT THE BOTTOM THATS IS NOT FAIR AND CHUCK YOUR DUMMY OUT OF ITS PRAM
http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=51230.0
STIDDS YOU BAD MAN HOW DARE YOU :LolLolLolLol:
SO I DID THE SAME ON THE BURNER FORUMS WHAT THE FOOK IS WRONG WITH THAT ?????
-
Theres a difference between asking your mates to vote for you, and asking publicly on a forum to vote.-if you had done it publicly on the burner forum- fair enough.
But Pm'ing individuals you dont know saying "My Bike is on Radbmx BOTY competition could do with your vote" is not right IMO.
I could do with their vote as well, and so could the other 6 finalists. I know exactly how many people you have PM'd over there.
-
there both shit anyway :LolLolLolLol: "admin" throw em out and get some proper bikes in there :uglystupid2: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

IM NOT STIDD'S M8 IVE NEVER MET THE GUY BEFORE :-\ :-\ BUT I STILL VOTED FOR HIS BIKE IS THAT WRONG. MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONTACT THE PEOPLE ON OS-BMX AND TELL THEM.
HOW MANY PEOPLE DID I PM THEN J, YOU BEEN LOOKING AT PM'S NOT VERY NICE THEN EHH, IN FACT ITS CALLED SPYING M8. THATS THE LAST TIME I SEND SOMONE A PERSONAL MESSAGE ON RALEIGHBURNER.COM.
THIS SMELLS OF JEALOUSY M8, I THOUGHT YOU WHERE BETTER THAN THIS.
-
lets face it ur both guilty past and present of rallyin round the troops from another os bmx site to win this comp ... yes julian i still do want the mk1 pro u got :daumenhoch: :LolLolLolLol: its all good fun
-
No its not jealousy mate. I think your bike is lovely, always have said that.
Yes you voted for stidds bike, good on ya, did he PM you to vote for it though ? I doubt it. There's a difference.
I can't look at PM's on the forum Jimmy, Mods can't do that. Ask Beard he will tell you that.
I had the Pm's from the people you asked to vote for you, saying they thought it was wrong. Theres probably more as well.

I hope the pro star wins, it deserves to :)
-
it was a tough choice between that the ripper and urs they are all mint as fook :4_17_5:
i aint sayin the others are shit it's just that those 3 really catch ur eye :coolsmiley:
jimmy urs is a minter too not everybody has the same likings so leave it were it is mate they all have an equal chance :daumenhoch:
-
No one has been lookin' at pms jimmyp, trust me on that one !!
If you look on OS bmx there is a stickyed thread regarding this same matter... bringing pals into vote for you.
And if I'm honest I did wonder if it was because of you this post had been put up there... I dunno... your bike came second in probably the most popular section over there when you had said that they weren't even really aware of raleigh & ruffell...
If I was an outsider I'd probably think otherwise .... likewise with stidds I posted in his thread... the second one to that one you posted just saying they take it very seriously etc etc... a word of warning. I think if you're gonna win then do it with a bit more dignity ... I didn't mind you pm'n me asking for a vote... as I consider you a mate, and you know I like that bike... a few here and there is fine but to perhaps try go out of your way to push the whole thing is a bit too much in a competition situation like this.
Where do you draw the line though, & how could it ever be stopped... how serious is this comp ?? Guess it boils down to the individual really.
Like the whole 'price your items' in for sale discussion I think it probably needs some thought.
like springers last words... LOL...

Look guys...
Everybodys bike on here is the best, we all are fans of particular makes, or models...but I cant think of anybody on here who regardless of whether their bike is a showstopping minter or a well used hack doesnt love their bike(s) to bits and maybe that's why squabbles sometimes will break out.
But c'mon is it really that important, everytime I walk into my bike room I take pride in what I have achieved, curse myself for not having bought a bigger house and scheme as to how I can get 'just one more' in there :)
BMX is about friends, not fights :daumenhoch:
Ray.

:LolLolLolLol:just read this about the pm voting thing i was just glad to receive 3 votes on my pro burner, thanks to the guys that did that for me ,as one was from me :-[
and all you others have a great new year :daumenhoch:
cheers again OBB
-
at the end of the day the best / most admired bike will win simple as! regardless of any pm's sent - i'm sure we will all vote for the bike we most like!
As i see it there hasn't been any bribes sent out - no promises of busty MILF's or winning lottery tickets - we all just vote for the bike most deserving of the title.
And thanks to those that voted for my GT - i didn't get a chance to add my own vote, but thanks for those that did :daumenhoch:
-
Cheers for everyone who voted for my bike too. Nice one. ;) I dropped a clanger entering this bike though. When Maurice Meyer entered his chrome TA at the last minute it was game over there and then! :LolLolLolLol:
Good luck to the winner. I loved two bikes and i went with my heart!
-
I'd like to thank everyone who voted for my bike too :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:
I think all the bikes that were entered into BOTY this year were all winners :4_17_5: the quality of them all is second to none :smitten:

Thank you to everyone that voted for the Condor, you clearly have great taste!

There were some stunning builds in there. My favourites were Nick's and Maurice's T/As and Mark's Hutch.
Gorgeous bikes. They make my riders look unworthy. :LolLolLolLol:
(Maybe because they are).

Definitely mate.
I've still not finished the second build yet. Once I do, i'll put pics up on here of course. It'll look sh1t compared to most on here but all my bikes are for riding, not putting on the wall.
Need two more chrome ones to complete my childhood dream build and my childhood bike. That'll have to wait for the time being though I think.
The T/A is the best looking bike of the 80s as far as I am concerned.
-
Well done Mark :4_17_5: A well deserved winner :daumenhoch:
Cheers Julian
-
Congratulations Mark :4_17_5: and to all the finalists :daumenhoch:

Yep a well deserved winner and a beautiful bike. :daumenhoch:

I voted for Maurice`s T/A myself, because it`s a freestyle bike, and because I rode with Maurice when he had that bike over here in 84 :daumenhoch:
Mark that is a truly stunning Hutch though, well done :daumenhoch:

Mark that is a truly stunning Hutch though, well done
I voted the TA aswell,so much history and fantastic story behind that bike..............
Congrats to Mark though ,thats a stunner.
-
Thanks for all the very generous comments guys - I'm so stoked to win because the standard was truly knockout, it could have gone any direction for so many reasons, resto's, history, survivors, replica's, customs, originals etc, they all deserve recognition, well done! There were loads of bikes I'd love to own, but I'm a bit skint after that one........
:LolLolLolLol:
Thanks again, have a good year,
mark
-
Wow, thanks for the votes guys! I didn't figure to win with all the excellent stuff in here and was surprised to be in the final cut. I did want to make sure to put the TA in for the UK BOTY since it's history is completely tied to that trip in 1984 and the Action Bike coverage. Freakin' cool thing to be able to have that bike back together and that wouldn't have happened without in the help of a lot of people. US, UK and Australian provided stuff is on that bike so it was an international restoration which is fitting for it's history and what that whole trip meant to me personally broadening the horizons of my no car having family, poor-azz kid in the city, barely traveled out of town before that roots.
Props to everyone running this site and all the excellent bikes entered. RADBMX rocks!

BTW: I Voted for the Floval :)

I didn't get back to the UK in time to vote, but the Hutch Pro Star is a very worthy winner.
I'm loving the look of the Hutch Judge the most though.
