Great news! :daumenhoch:

This looks perfect for winter - 3 races.  Just the right amount to keep the momentum going and no too taxing on the commitment front.

See you guys at Coppull!

I think those 3 plus Barnard Castle after Crimbo and a Preston Club race.

Thats 5.

Preston could probably be fit into December.   Barnard Castle sometime after Xmas and before the summer series!!

No pressure on racing.  Nice and friendly, plenty of banter.  Plenty of exercise.  Everyone stays fit and healthy and everyone is ready for the summer series.

Also get Betty to include a few Skatepark meets too.

If you can make a meet then good, if you can't then not a problem.   Winter training just to keep your finely honed instrument in tune!!

Yah bunch o'gays

It was stated that Preston was the 1st round but..................Its really the club championships.   It wasn't part of any series, just a one off event.

So why not leave it like that.

They'll be no oggy this time so both you losers should gain a place anyway!!   :LolLolLolLol:

It all depends on what we're having.   If its a 3 race series based on the Inter Series then why not have it over the 3 races.

If we are having more races including Barnard Castle then it only makes sense to include another Preston race because they'll be having loads of club races.

Whichever way, the Club Championships points shouldn't be included as its a one-off event plus we might be able to get a few more newbies to race and Bren might be up for it.  So lets start the winter series afresh.

If its decided that the 3 race series is the way to go then there might be trophy up for grabs,  so it could make it easier to be over the 3 races.

Who can make the 3 inter races and who can't?

Who has an opinion about the winter OS Series etc, etc.

Speak up and lets get it sorted before the first race (or 2nd race for those glory hounds).   :daumenhoch:

Of the 3 race series, I'm not 100% for any of them for various reasons, sorry to say  :-[

Manchester clashes with a gig and Crewe is a bit too far from Harrogate (I did 2 of their big races this year); I've done some serious mileage this year including MK and cheering on various RADsters at the Derby and Manc nationals.  Coppull is possible for me but both me and my lad had both planned to get our heads down with plenty of local training (fitness and skills) for a while.

Most of this is down to my circumstances and no reflection on the ace fun and banter of OS racing :daumenhoch:

[BTW Bradford said they'd be happy to host a round of winter OS racing on a Sunday; they just needed to know roughly when, as most of their races are not likely to be on a Sunday because of parking problems when the Sunday football is on.]

Molster, start a poll with a load of dates inc the said 3 and go from there  :daumenhoch:
Title: Re: OFFICIAL 3 ROUND WINTER SERIES
Post by: moley on October 25, 2010, 04:43 PM
I'll find out the dates for every club winter series + the inter-series ones and then I'll start a thread when I have all of the information.

Everyone can view the dates and state what they think they can make.

Then we'll take it from there!!   :daumenhoch:

[BTW Bradford said they'd be happy to host a round of winter OS racing on a Sunday; they just needed to know roughly when, as most of their races are not likely to be on a Sunday because of parking problems when the Sunday football is on.]

...........So they might shift one of their saturday/mid week races to sunday if we can guarantee a good OS turnout?

Or do they not have any club races over winter?

Exactly - they will be midweek (floodlit) or Saturday late morning/noon for the most part ('cos of the parking issues). Probably once a month but dates haven't been announced yet. I was promised that they'd run one on a Sunday if we said when.  As their dates aren't out yet, it's down to us to pick an approximate date.

Keep it simple.   Offical North Region Winter Series and some seperate one-off races!

I suggest we have a 3 round series - which is basically the Offical North Region Winter Series. After all, thats the way we've historically done it and it'd simplyfy the points scoring.

And seperate to that we have a series of "one off, race for glory" type events -e.g. the afformention Barnard Castle and Preston Club meets.

Just my opinion - I'll go along with anything. :daumenhoch:

i thought old school races were "just a bit of fun" :LolLolLolLol: sounds like everyones taking this dead serious and scared to death of not beeing able to make a race and lose a few points. moley the trophy should go to the last place guy and thats me lol :LolLolLolLol: im with moleys idea stick up every race that will give us an old school gate and lets do as many as we can. that way if u can make it cool if u cant no probs. if you only stick to 3 races and some guys cant make em all or they are to far from them its going to spoil the fun bit dont u think? personaly ill race at every race i can the more races posted the more fun :daumenhoch:

3 x Inter Club Series (coppull, Manchester & Crewe)
Bradford
Barnard Castle

If anyone can persuade Hartlepool to get a pre-summer/national meet together then Hartlepool could be the last meet...................but it wont happen.   Someone needs to ask them.   So its up to you NE lads!!  :daumenhoch:

Has Heywood got the dosh for gate yet?   Maybe they might want to hold a meet?

That sound fine to me - three from five races isn't too much of a commitment either. Could do with knowing all the dates as soon as possible though - a serious rider like me needs to plan for maximum points potential!

A question - isn't the interclub series for, er, the clubs involved or are they open to anyone?

Question now posted on North East BMX website.
Title: Re: OFFICIAL 3 ROUND WINTER SERIES

Inter Club series is just that.   Club meets held at 3 venues to maximise turnout at the meets and to minimise cost of meets by holding fewer meets at each club.

Its open to anyone who can be arsed turning up.

I've already talked to Coppull and they said we'd be fine racing at all venues.

Crewe has always been OS friendly and I can't see Manchester being any different.

We just need 4 riders to make a gate..............Or we'll be stuck in with another class.

Heres whats available to race in North Region  (Date order)

07.11.2010 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R1
21.11.2010 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 1 at Mid Lancs (Coppull) BMX Club
05.12.2010 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R2
09.01.2011 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R3
23.01.2011 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 2 At Manchester BMX Track
06.02.2011 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R4
20.02.2011 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 3 At Cheshire Ghostriders (Crewe) BMX Club
06.03.2011 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R5

Heres Inter Club Series
21.11.2010 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 1 at Mid Lancs (Coppull) BMX Club
23.01.2011 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 2 At Manchester BMX Track
20.02.2011 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 3 At Cheshire Ghostriders (Crewe) BMX Club

Preston's Winter Series
07.11.2010 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R1
05.12.2010 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R2
09.01.2011 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R3
06.02.2011 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R4
06.03.2011 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R5

There is nothing in December.  Except Maybe Xmas/fun meets etc,etc

So I suggest this line up as a series  :-

Rnd 1 : 21.11.2010 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 1 at Mid Lancs (Coppull) BMX Club
Rnd 2 : Mid Dec       Bradford Bandits
Rnd 3 : 23.01.2011 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 2 At Manchester BMX Track
Rnd 4 : 20.02.2011 Inter Club Winter Racing Round 3 At Cheshire Ghostriders (Crewe) BMX Club
Rnd 5 : 06.03.2011 Preston Pirates BMX Club Winter Series R5

Thats one a month.

Summer series will start by April or end of March so we're no really going to get another meet in!!

If we can get Hartlepool, Heywood or Barnard Castle into the mix then we can swap Crewe and/or Preston and add another race between Jan-Mar to make 6 races.

What dya think?
