.....how i miss her.....
-
are they grenades on that laz alloy one side alloy tut other
-
Imagine how gutted youd feel if you'd bought one then decided that the seat was too low/high!!!!
-
are they grenades on that laz alloy one side alloy tut other
Yep Standard Hand Grenades, i think i had Basic silencers on the other side.
-
ive got some zima forks :)
-
my nan has a zima frame
i'll get my coat :LolLolLolLol:
-
Geoff and Doug Cain both had Zima frames. I think Doug still has his purple one but I havent seen Geoffs one for a while. I might be going round there tonight so I will ask him.
I liked the "Z" where the chain stays crossed over behind the BB to give chainring clearance. Nice touch.
I think that soon, NS frames will have a stub seat tube that you just bolt the seat straight to, without needing a seat post. They might even use the pivitol system. But ... Im sure they will be a little lower than Zima frames ever were tho! ha ha.
-
What are the chances of this. I found a mag out to scan some pics of that Decay bike and found this. Steve is a top man but I havent seen him for ages.
(Its a nice big scan so do a "save as" and view it through something that you can Zoom in if you wanna read it)
-
good man ,i will go grab another choc ice and have a good read.
-
There was a Zima test in a mag that had loads of really good pics of Geoff Cain. I dont think I can give him the props he will get if I scan them! >:D
Only Jokin, Im sure I will ... if I find it.
-
There is a member thats got one ( Ben Hur) but he lives most of his time in Thiland now :(
-
Here is the Zima test from Ride. Geoff Cain making the bike look light!

I think a company has already started doing that (can't remember which company it was - Sunday maybe?) with the pivotal mount welded onto the frame. Dunno whether it was a production frame though or just a prototype for a team rider. Sure it was in the last/current issue of Ride mag I looked at in WHS.
-

Check out factory GT Gossa on the cover of Ride (or is it Jim Dirt Duly?).
-
trials bikes have seats which bolt to a small platform, so i can see this transferring to bmx soon
how heavy is the backend of a zima    look at the pic of the frame on the ramp its sitting up with nothing propping the front end up

:LolLolLolLol: didn't realise that post was a year old.
Dunno whether it definitely is a Sunday I saw with integral pivotal mount (I'm sure someone who has the latest issue of Ride will verify). I can't keep track of all the new school freestyle companies and what they're all doing at the moment.
-
will go 2 his shop 2morow and tell him bout oldfools :daumenhoch:

Im so far in front, Im about to come past you ..... for the second time! :LolLolLolLol:

Use that time machine to go back in time instead of forwards and bring back more OS stuff.
Or go forward and instead of looking at Sunday products, get me next year's winning lottery numbers :LolLolLolLol:
-
It's the Sunday Ian Schwartz pro model, available in white with pictures of fish on it, stub pivotal post integrated.

It was no heavier than the Standard STA i moved on to! Well maybe a bit heavier! But that's why mid schoolers are so manly!

good to hear steve geale is still about , i only know of his mtb days where he was a top name in dirt jumping , i think he held the highest hop record too ( sadly only counts on a mtb for some reason ::) )
-
spoke 2 steve yesterday said he made 80 framesets
-
My friend had number 38, I'm sure it was well heavier than an STA though.
-
i knew a guy in the 90's who had one at the same time i had my sta and im pretty sure the zima was heavier, that seat tube must of weighed a bit just on its own
-
i have a new 95 sta sat here, can give it a weight
-
I had number 22
-

16 lbs
Stick a pair of 90s pegs on there and that'd be the same as a whole bike now! I bet a Zima would last longer tho!

Pic to follow kev :)
I got mind of Sen 'Skidmark'... hes got artwork for the Zima decals and made his own - hes sending it over to me so I can get a different colourway - if you fancied doing some more for yours I'll pass it on :daumenhoch:
I'd love yours if you took those horrible black wall tyres off ;D
-
cool, he has already pm'ed me offering to send me the artwork but tbh i cant be arsed to make them :LolLolLolLol:
i like the blackwalls, most of my bikes have gt, primo or rainbow comp 3 tanwalls and there's no other 90's tanwalls i like so i went with the blackwalls
-
Yours needs decals mate!

Finally scanned some old Zima pics from 93 (TD022)
Started with blue stickers...
Then chrome...
Then took off the beautiful chrome :'( to go candy red...
Then went bare metal with one of the first sets of Superforks ever made and a MK1 G-sport hub (before George did fronts) and prototype Dragonfly Gyro cables...

Cool pics Laz. Thats one hell of a seat post. I wonder if Steve kept a record of the frames he made.
I bet you had the highest one! ;)
