i rode from 83 to 89, then got a moped then car etc.
i never really forgot about BMX, there was just no urge to ride / no one to ride with.
until in 96, when me and my bro both bought bikes again.
thats a good 7 year break. 10 years for my brother.
i have found once you get into bmx, it never seems to leave your system.

Never had a break! Ridden most days from 1981 till today.

Rode from 82 to 90
Skated from about 87 - 92
Although didn't ride occasionaly mags to read and day dream
Haven't started yet......but i will....just need a bike ;)

Quit 87. Had a bit of a look in 89. Then got back into it in 93 after seeing Hi 5 with Mat Hoffman. Have tried to ride at least once a week for the last 2 1/2 years.

rode from 80 to 86 then got into it again 2002 1 years started riding again or trying properly about 1 month ago and still crap lol

stopped about 87 or 88 i fink skated till 92 tho.then started riding about 2 years ago
so about 17 or 18 years ago

Got my first bmx in Oct 79, last ride was at the Sobel Holeshot comp in Jan 85, didn`t even look at a bmx untill August 2004, so thats 19 years 7 months.
Back now though ;D

Think I stopped in late 85 or early 86.
Started in Feb 05, so about 19 years.

Raced 82-86 then gave up untill i got a job at Skatepark
5 years ago, been riding park and flat since but only
recently started going to the track again so its a 19
year break from racing.

well i rode 80 to 86 met a 24yo with big bazokas and moved in with her i was only 16yo and what can i say she led me astray ;D back into freestyle 2005 bit of a late starter with the old pc ???

raced from 84-91 and had my own kick ramp, so did a bit of 80's freestyle. Kept my Whitehawk race bike and used it as transport to university and raves! had a 12 speed racer then mountain bike but always prefered wizing about on the bmx.
Only really got properly back into it when i stumbled across a gathering at ROM a few years back, met a load of similar old blokes having a laugh riding their bikes, wahey now riding at any possible moment :)

started 85 when everyone around me gave up ,and was on and off what with skateboard and music ,woman, beer and everything else and have been on and off for years and never disapppered through out ,even bought the mags when i didn`t ride still and now ride as i can what with work and everything else that life beholds :)

i have that on video. i taped it off sky when i first got back into riding again in 96 - i was blown away by what the stuff they were doing

Rode 82-84. Then like so many others saw High5 with Hoffman in '93..... August, actually. By Jan '94 I had my own indoor vert ramp ;D ;D And absolutely no idea how to ride it! Met Radders during that year and rode with him as much as possible and learned a lot. Lost that ramp a year later (busybody council >:() and have been in search of the perfect vert ramp ever since.
Packed in again in 2000, then met RomBloke and Pat (who I hadn't seen for 20+yrs) at Rom in late 2004. Have been riding regularly since then. Happy days. Now ride 3 times a week at 3 different venues and am probably riding the best I ever have, at 38 years old.
Who'd have thought it..........

had first bike christmas 81, rode till about 88 then started skating. got back into riding aout 94 and been riding ever since so only a 6 year gap for me.

got rid of the grifter christmas '79 for the second bmx in my neighbourhood....chrome murray 340
stopped riding in '84 or '85....its still slightly unclear exactly as my hormones were playing up what with thoughts of young ladys on my mind 24/7
got Rhys a new haro last year and took him to rom.....got told about VBMX by one of the skaters at the park...went and joined, met up with stupps, rob, and pat at rom a few weeks later and tried to ride once a week since, (not including my mr potatao head period)
so i make that 19 years......far too long in my book and gutted i missed the best part of 20 years without even thinking about bmx

86-04, god how it shows, especially when you fall off, you just dont bounce anymore you hit the deck and your an instant bag of shit, 18 broken bones since back into it, most of them ribs to be fair. :)

gave up mid 86 didnt have anything to do with bmx until a reunion at southsea in september04

Stopped BMX around 1985 when I got a Suzuki TS50ER. I never looked back until this year..so 31 years

Wow as above same year including the same Suzuki TS50ER in red .
Fitted a big bore kit went like shite off a brick .
Myself 31 years too.
Still got my original bike the only thing I took when I left home ( well kicked out :slayer:)
