Dear all.
I have been a member here for a while, more a browser than a writer, but I felt the urge to share some Vincent Frames information with you all.
Bernie Vincent the man and the name behind the frames is a good man and has a very cool family.
His family have decided after all these years to bring back some Vincent memories for Bernie, and those of us that know him and the riders associated with VF, riders such as Paul Hudson, the late Pepi Winder, Dave Young, Adam Dudley and various Vincent race teams.
The Vincent family have started a Facebook page that has some great pictures, YouTube links and general Facebook stuff all to do with the Vincent era.
For any of you that rode competitions in the 1980's, most of the ramps you were riding were Vincent ramps and they also had many fingers in other projects most notably Holeshot with the Ruffell family.
Please feel free to become of a fan of the page and post anything you may have that is relevant to Vincent, Paul, Pepi, Dave etc. Pictures, memories, stories it's all good, the more the merrier as they say.
Thanks in advance from a fan of Vincent Frames from the very start.

Friend.
This link is a direct quote from the Vincent family member that posted on the Vincent Facebook page regarding the Holeshot question.
"The RF1 wasn't a Vincent Frames, however Bernie Vincent and Paul Hudson did make them which is why I've included them here".
Hope that goes some way to clarify, it may or may not answer your question.
Regards
Steve also.

Hey Vframes - thanks so much for posting this and telling everyone about it!
Steve, yes I can confirm that the RF1 was manufactured by Bernie Vincent & Paul Hudson in the workshop in Saltdean, Brighton for the Ruffell's.
Any more questions, I'll pick the old man's brain & will try to answer as best I can.

Quadropenia, I met up with Bernie, Katie and Paul a few weeks ago.
I hadn’t seen Bernie for over 20 years.
I asked him about the RF-1, and he initially had no recollection at all!!
I explained all I knew and he did begin to recall the frame.
I told him remember us travelling up from Brighton to the Sobell and seeing Bernie hand over the first one to Andy.
It was red or orange, and Andy Immediately slapped the Holeshot retangular stickers on the down tube.
Anyway, Bernie seemed to think he had made ‘not many’ or ‘a handfull’.
I am sure Katie will be able to find out a bit more,
She has done a great job getting things started with the FB page.

yes, its great to get a good BMX thread on here for a pleasant change. The facebook site is great.
As bernie to light up the welder once again and make a few more of those Holeshot frames.. I'm sure Andy won't mind :LolLolLolLol:
-
hey, thanks everyone for your encouraging comments, and thanks for the big welcome.
In reply to the RF-1 question, I asked Andy and he couldn't shed any more light on it other than he thought it was a lot more than a handful...I'll press a little harder.
The page is getting a great response and people are starting to post pictures and memories....there's more to come too, we're keeping busy!

I think that's the first time I have seen an actual RF1....
-
All I remember about them was this write up and a Holeshot ad of Neil airing, probably at Mons ramp, with Andy, Craig Scofield and Mon standing on the platform looking up at him.
The only Holeshot thing I ever had was a T-Shirt but I remember it being a weird fit with a high neck and I always felt like a dentist or a vet wearing it

I remember standing in the checkout queue in Asda Woodham Ferrers wearing a Holeshot hoodie. Then noticed Andy Ruffell stood next to me wearing one too.. I was so surprised I had no idea what to say other than "hello" :LolLolLolLol:

funnily enough i had a phone call from former vincent rider andy reardon on the weekend. havn't seen him for years but another rider friend passed my number to him. gonna be arranging a cardiff ramp room 86-88 reunion sometime this summer. he still has his old vincent in his parents attic after all these years- needs alot of work though he reckons. told him to join up here so who knows....
