I don't know if you'll be able to see it, but there is a nice bit of road rash on my face.  I crashed pretty bad in practice 10 minutes before this picture was taken.  I nose dived to flat bottom and knocked myself out.  I woke up to Fiola asking me if I was ok.  I smashed my left knee, hip, shoulder, face and certain other parts that line up with the gooseneck.  I still managed to get 2nd place in the expert class.

Look closely at the pic of Tony Murray, the guy in the backgroung with the gt shirt and cut-off dyno pants. :2funny:
I still LMAO every time I see it, I blame it on the 80's.

andy, dont you have any of this on video?
I think I have, or had, some of the 84 and 85 KOS on video but the last time I tried to watch it the picture was terrible, lots of static and the audio was distorted.  Me thinks it's no good anymore.  A friend of mine went to the del mar event in 85 and video taped it but I never saw the video and lost touch with the guy.

The photo above must have been some anomoly, usually I rode Mons with rectors and no lid. :idiot2:
I must have been ready to try a trick that I knew I would hit head first thus saving any additional wear and tear on my rectors. :LolLolLolLol:

I'm working on it.  Is it just me and my computer, or does it take a loooong time to upload pics to photobucket?  I swear it takes me 15-20 minutes to upload 5-6 pictures and I have a pretty fast broadband.

Sometimes it`s quick, sometimes it`s not. Perhaps it depends on how many people are using it at the same time  ???

Some of my negatives did have some water/moisture damage.  The Dominguez and Blyther pics apparently got wet and stuck to the wax paper sheet that holds the negatives.  The quality suffered on many pics but the content was still there, so I posted them anyway.  I still have a bunch more that didn't make the post because of damage like that.  Theres a color picture of Vanderspeck at del mar and it looks like he has a snake wrapped around his wheel but its just water damage.
you've got a keen eye CSI Spicoli, but you'll never find the bodies. :LolLolLolLol:

I would love a couple of hours in Bob Osborne, Wendy Osborne, and TLB's archives.  The number of pictures that they must have that never made it into the magazines must be staggering.

TLB runs the whenwewasrad.co.uk website, which for the most part deals with the mag when it was no longer BMX Action Bike and switched to RAD Magazine, which was more heavily skate influenced. I sent him a message suggesting he put together a photo/coffee book of his images, like you guys mentioned he must literally have thousands.
He pretty much documented the whole UK BMX/skate scene for umpteen years.
It would be great if he did, maybe we should get a petition together and pester him...

It was a while back that we went to Livi Gary, and although it looks like it could still be a great part we were a bit disapointed by the big bowl now having coping around it, and it being full of glass  :(

Know what you mean about the coping Bill, don't think I've aired it since they put that in! And the locals idiots do like to abuse it... Guess that's one of the problems of an open, free skatepark... Shame.

Great pics Gary ,that Junior pic is probs the highest air out of the bowl i have ever seen.
I remember well the reputation Junior had bitd for going high out of the bowl, I did see him ride the bowl once but he was only getting a couple of feet out.
I seen framey ride livi in 85 and he blew me away he had all the lines down.
Livi has that historical feel about it when you go, you just cant help but think back to all the things that have gone on there.
You usally have plenty of time to think when your there as its a miracle if it isn't p***ing down.

Nah, not even close!

Junior's is a very respectable air non-the-less in that bowl but these are in a league of their own, as was the rider in that bowl!
