Title: Manueling
Post by: oldtired on April 29, 2011, 08:39 PM
with my current attemps at getting rid of the flabby bits and trying to improve my wobbleing technique i been out trying to get the hang of the old manuel, not the freesylie platform one wich i can manage most of the time, but the bumpy up and downy race one ,
having had a few conversations with a few of the os race crowd , and taking on board the advice and pointers from the affore mentioned Guru's

today i have finally come to conclusion that the back of me crash helmet is not bad at proctecting me head........... :LolLolLolLol:,   manuels on bumpy bits are fookin impossible   :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:   :LolLolLolLol:

Practice on the flat to start with, walk before you can run and all that

Gives me proper backache, thats my 2p's worth....  ;D

keep the front lowish, use your knees to try hold it by bending em up n down - if you have a brake, use it lightly to stop fliping out the back, unless your all newschool with no brakes.  Give you self a distance goal, then make it futher as you get better.  Manwelling over more than 2 race humps is tricky.  If you can find a gradual bank thats great to learn on, keeps your speed going.

Dude, I've been working on this skill for a year now and it does get easier. As above, practising getting at/near the balance point on the flat really helps when you apply it to the track.
