The OS Grands at Preston Riders/Show and Shine List should be up tonight.
I PM'd the list to Cotty so that he can update the thread as I'll be away a few days before the meet.

Chaps/Moley,
I think these threads need to move with the times and have two riders lists - Old School and one for Radsters who are racing NS (with a note of their category) ??? It'd increase the traffic on the thread.
Wadda ya think?

There are some pretty stong insinuations flying around here !
It's fact, scientific FACT*, that bikes manufactured with brake lugs (even if they have been removed) are between 24.6% and 35.3% faster than those without.

Dex, IMHO I think more people would turn up for Crewe if that first jump was tweaked to make it more rideable, especially in gates 1-3 . It just seems to throw you in the air. Some kids and adults :-[ were just ramping off it , hitting the upside and bouncing to the bottom of it.

I hear what you are saying but it is more than ridable. Even in 1-3 with concentration.
I did ask Clark about it a while ago and he wanted to keep a differential for drainage but it would be nicer to make it the same across.
I wouldn't want to change it though. Gates 4 - 8 are mint. It's just Crewe. It just needs a strong manwell.
There are dreams of making the first straight more euro. Lowering and lengthening the first dubs, big quad into the turn. But I don't want to spend (or even try to fund) those changes.
At the end of the day, it's Crewe.
:)

Crewe is awesome, liked it before, like it more now. Its a riders track built by riders....to ride.
and not for puffs

Crewe is a great, modern track. I like it. It makes me think.
Unlike some other tracks in our region that make me think... why do you want to damage people!!

crewe is a fookin awesome track, its tracks like this that bmx needs to raise the bar, the first doubles didnt phase me too much the fookin vert on the backend of 2nd step up scares the shit out of me but i wouldnt have it changed, crewes frustrating coz the jumps desperately want to be jumped but the landings are too scary for me to attempt on one visit, but thats my problem not the tracks,, unfortunatally crewe suffers from being fookin miles away otherwise i'd race it every series, scary, technical, fast smooth, awesome,
now bring it further ooop norf n we're all laughin :daumenhoch:
-
I thought Crewe was a challenging track, having said that,a few nights spent riding it,getting it sussed, it could be riden smoooothly :daumenhoch:
the first doubles as dex said require balls to manual, i nearly made it across a couple of times in practice, just needs more commitment :)
Its an awesome track, just wish i could get to ride it more :(
-
Crewe is a good track, I didn't say it wasn't. I was replying to Dex's comment wishing more OS had come along and I gave my reasons why I don't think they do, along with a lot of other riders that didn't turn up in other classes.
I agree it is rideable with concentration and it's OK to say practice more etc. etc. when you are a bit older but when you are a bit younger it's different, even one of the Brooksys who are probably the most skilled younger riders ended up ramping off it no footed.... what a puff ! ;)

I think Crewe is a good modern trailsy kind of track. It totally doesn't suit me but it shows me where I'm at in my quest to develop the skills I need. I was able to manual the first double from gates 3-8, whereas only a few months ago I could barely roll round without falling off. I still struggled to catch backsides on a lot of the jumps and that's where the other cruiser dudes pulled away from me. Gates 1 and 2 are quite tricky but I always cut across whenever possible anyway ;)
-
Super-Crewe! Please Concentrate.....
and watch out for cotty's rectum-rat in gate 1. Haaaaaa, haa, ha, haaaaaa.
