flatland is the hardest of bmx disciplines to learn

hence is the least populated

not being as rad as the other aspects of the sport will make it a little less interesting to the bmx fraternity I think.
I love bmx but some of the flatland shows bore the sh1t out of me. ;D But you cant beat a good gumby Ruler

i remember that fiola, mirra, etc did f/l, it can be hard to master at times but it pays it's dividends, sometimes as much if not more than street, quarterpipe, etc  i like(d) martti kuoppa, chase gouin, paul osika, day smith. it was  mindblowing and inspirational to watch these on vids, or in mags.

you should see what marrti kuoppa is pulling at the moment. and some other people...would make most bmxers rather confused..

:D thanx blindingsun 4 the fotos, they were cool, rad,    f/l is an art.    the pity i find when i watch it live is , if they fall off/fail their trick, then it's so easy to think what u think, yet if a dirt/vert/etc rider falls off then it's different, they attempted it, and they'll try it again, but in regards f/l it would almost appear to be an almost a no win situ.  wot do u think? :)
Title: Re: flatland
Post by: blindingsun on June 03, 2006, 08:04 PM
nah i think now in flatland..especially at comps.. a rider would get just as much of a croud cheer for trying something stupid as he would for landing it.... and ive seen martti kouppa bail hard things and still win the comp so.. and pull the link 2 mins later.. i think there is more room for error in flatland definetly

seen lee mussel doing those crazy rolling tricks at KOC for the past few years

he is so smooth

the flatland comp at southsea was always incredible to watch. last years is on sky sometimes - you can see me at one side, sitting with 4 others!

shame KOC aint on this year. slack

You dont have to be into flatland to appriciate it because anybody can see it takes years of dedication to get these tricks wired. I dont even understand whats going on but I like it.
