Well, it started like every other friday for me...worked nights last night, got home at 8am this morning fully intending to carry out my promise to the mrs. that I would do some work on the house (currently building an extension)...well, that was the plan anyway!...but you know what they say about best layed plans etc. :P
Y'see, yesterday I took delivery of the final parts needed for my reflex build...my first bmx for well over 20 years. The frame has stood in my living room for the past few months slowly growing into something resembling a bike, bits being added as the parts came in. This morning, full of good intentions I wandered into the extension to resume work on the staircase I've been building...then I spotted my spanners and thought fook it, I'll just go and put the headset on the bike It'll only take me 10 minutes...a couple of hours later and I'm realising that maybe I got a bit carried away because where there was once a pile of bits in boxes and jiffy bags there was now a completely finished bike ;D
I'd better go and do some work on the house now I thought...but first maybe I should just go for a little ride up the lane to make sure everything on the bike works properly. From the moment my feet touched the pedals the once familiar distant memories came flooding back...I felt like I was 12 years old again...anyway you can probably guess the rest...been riding round on it all day...and the work on the extension?...fook it...I got a bmx again!!! ;D ;D
Everything on the bike works as it should and it rolls surprisingly smooth...cheers to everyone on here that has furnished me with parts and advice, you've all made me very happy :daumenhoch:
For the first time in ages I feel alive again...today has been a good day...the house can wait till tomorrow ;)
