I got this earlier this year, it's an ex Sweetbeats/Stu27 bike and I got the f/f from Stu back in Feb. :coolsmiley:
...i'd first seen the bike in Blackpool last year when Jase had it, it had polished Araya's and chrome GT Pro bars on it amongst other sexy parts, then Stu had it and completely changed it again using yellow Tuffs and contrasting blue/red bits, these were both stunning looking bikes respectively, but there's a yellow Performer in the museum (can't remember the owner :-[) that always attracted my attention, and I knew that if a nice yellow frameset ever came up this was the direction i'd base one on :smitten:
...so Me and Stu cut a deal and I started sourcing parts... ;)
...this is the progress so far...

...I wanted to keep it simply yellow and black, also like all my builds, on a budget :-[.
So first I went for a Nikyo headset with a Tange headlock, repop DC seat clamp, the Z's are off my DP, these are the show set with decals but will use a decaless set when being ridden, the stem was a scabby repop one that Dan worked his magic on, even filling the hole for me on the top :4_17_5: this has a hollw bold bought from Kappy.
The bars were some I bought off Wini ages ago, Dan powdered those for me too, and the tyres are Kenda K55's from eBay, and the pedals are NOS ones from Terry :coolsmiley:
The other bits, brakes and crank were from my white Performer which has been stripped and sold to Brett - :'( great bike.
The Tuf Neck chainring will be getting swapped for a sugino eventually and those New School pads will be getting changed too.
I've just ordered a repop Kashi from eBay and i'll get a KMC chain from my LBS, then it's ready to roll, probably Blackpool. :daumenhoch:

If you're looking for something to put your yellow Tuffs on, how about an '83 Tuff Burner? :coolsmiley:

Nice that is Wardy mate. :smitten:
As I mentioned in an earlier post in the thread, there's one in the Museum that always got my attention, what are the chances that it was actually built by SteveP and it is now the very frameset I own. Unbelievable. :daumenhoch:
-
Loving this so far, Dan. :smitten:
Can't wait to see it finished! Good to see it's going to be ridden too. :daumenhoch:
Giles ;D

Certainly will Giles, Blackpool will be it's maiden voyage, it will be it's 2nd year there as Jase rode it last year. :daumenhoch:

Chainring arrived yesterday Matt, cheers, it will be replacing the Tuf Neck whan I get some chrome bolts. :daumenhoch:
-
Had a tinker today and changed the chainring for a 44t Sugino that I got off Matt, also using some chrome bolts. Addes a Pro Performer bar decal and GT foil coin to the bars dan had powdered, decals are from our very own Del. :daumenhoch:
