Good man  :daumenhoch: None of this wrap it in cling film for the next 20 years nonsense! You can still use it and then get it repainted in 20 years time!!!!! Let the brutality commence  >:D :daumenhoch:

Nice one Phil - join the club!

Loving that colour co-ordinated sticker on the flights. Nice touch.

Here's mine a few weeks ago...but I've put it back to standard now...

some nice subtle changes to the original spec

yeah, i tried to build it how it should have been built, in the factorey, so not that much looks too different from the original bike, but surprisingly, all that is left is the frame, forks and seatclamp.

thanks for all the comments guys.

phil....i really, really like that...not to sure about the bars tho....id colour match a pair of modern bars, but its yours not mine....it still rules tho

Dave
Title: Re: my new ride.
Post by: oberonspacefruit on June 21, 2006, 07:48 PM
i know what you mean dave. i had to weld 2 inches back onto those to get them back to original.

ill see how i go with them.

ive still got the bars it came with, which are already colourmatched.

but after welding, spraying colourmatching, and waiting for stickers from the states to complete the bars that are on it, they will have to be pretty crap for me to change them.

glad you like it mate.

Have you ridden it yet? Are the pedals scuffed? Is the frame scratched? Are the bars ends scratched? Is the seat mashed? Are the pegs ground flat? Is the chainring bent? Are there any bent or broken spokes? Have you buckled either wheel? Do the tyres have any flat spots?

I know mate! It should be ridden hard though, afterall it is a new school bike..............same as yours, get it out and thrash it! its a bit like buying a nice Ferrari and not taking it out and thrashing the buggery out of it!

Title: Re: my new ride.
Post by: theRuler on June 23, 2006, 09:37 AM
39 tooth?

what sprocket is on the back?
Title: Re: my new ride.
Post by: oberonspacefruit on June 23, 2006, 09:41 AM
dunno, 14?

its a cassette. the bike came with a 39 tooth haro sprocket.
Title: Re: my new ride.
Post by: theRuler on June 23, 2006, 09:46 AM
i was thinking 39-16 wheelie gearing!

have you had it on the scales?
Title: Re: my new ride.
Post by: oberonspacefruit on June 23, 2006, 09:53 AM
no, not yet. i need to get some different pegs first, those haro chromo ones weigh as much as a large chicken themselves.

it will be interesting to see though,

wheels and tyres, hula hoops are heavier, but its 10mm axle on the front, and hollow 14mm on back,
its a combined macniel seat and post, so that is a lot lighter than the haro offering,
i reckon its aboot similar on th cranks, though the chaiwheel will deffo be lighter.

stem is much lighter.

most of the rest of the changes will be similar weights.

i bet it will work out exactly the same.

do you want a bet? for sport? say,   .......fippence?
Title: Re: my new ride.
