Ok what is a good weight for a park street bike? its just that they seem a bit heavy well mine does D K Dayton 06. What should I change on this bike to make it feel less like a steam roller and dont say the 15 stone rider ;D.
I dont mind changing the frame and forks if thats the problem.
-
bikes are heavy because there strong :daumenhoch: it really depend on you geometry, wtp darkness is as heavy as my old bike but feels alot lighter, so does the db joker
-
yeah I worked that bit out about them being stronger but is the Dayton heavier than most or is that the norm?.
-
you can shed a load of weight off your bike andy by changing out the wheels, tyres, and pegs.
i seem to have the heaviest bike on the planet but im sure if i switched my triple wall rim wheels, and pegs id shave 3 pound off it.....
theres also a lot of weight in the seat/post area, macneil do a combo seat/post, that is a pound lighter than my haro saddle/post.
so....in essance, seat, wheels, tyres(khedo a light tyre) you can prob shed 4 to 5 lbs

take a good sh1t before you go riding & wear minimum or no clothes, take off all jewellery & empty your pockets of money, eat no food for a couple of weeks, also go to the gym for a year & lift heavy weights, this will help with weight
-
cheers Dave will get onto it this week. Weston hows your leg? And as for lifting weights thats my thing mate I have benched over 500 pounds for reps but my bike still feels heavy. Well I am off for a sh1t and get out on my bike in a thong to see if Weston theory works ;D

How long before you get back on a bike? What a bummer man to fukk your leg up. My mate bust his leg last year and he was out of action for about four months. Yours sounds bad though. You are just gonna have to grin and bear it but at least you have internet porn to pass the time ;D.
-
it will take between 6 & 12months before the frame comes off if everything goes well then i start physio
-
Along with the wheels and tires get a titanium crank axle and some light pedals :daumenhoch:
-
i think mine is the way forward bill ;D
-
ive been saying this for last 12 months finally got another frame (bulldog)and built it using chosen parts and got it down to 27 lbs which is good .i could loose another 2 or 3 if i tried but cost would be to much .

:2funny: :2funny: cheap yeah I would bend it ;D

i'd say 26-27lbs is a good weight. you'll notice a lot of difference straight away if you change up the bars and forks. like dave said tyres are a good thing to change aswell, a few people are running the new light khe foldables and they've noticed a lot of difference.
-
start with a light frame
-
theres too many men with weak girly arms on this site, none of the kids on the local parks have this problem because they eat 3 shredded wheat on a morning. stop crying about the weight you weeds :LolLolLolLol:
-
start with a light frame
then simmer for 20 minutes

its ok for you Gra as your bike is just for balancing on :LolLolLolLol: its only when you hit the ramps you will notice the weight :LolLolLolLol: and i dont mean a kickturn.

lol
light bikes are better
mirra is running a 5 pound frame now
weigh yours - it'll be a 9 pound ox
its feasable to build a good strong 26 pound bike
