Title: Living In Electric Dreams ((( WINDSTYLER FINISHED)))) !!!!!!!
Post by: Funkyworm on February 26, 2013, 03:59 PM: Needless to say I have been looking forward to this day for a couple of months now as I've finally got together most of my parts for my 3rd 4th & 5th ever builds, the bank account has been hammered & the spare room taken up with parts but all in a worthy cause (at least that's what i tell the Girlfriend)......

Only by a stroke of luck today did I actually intercept the UPS courier carrying the 3 frame sets bars seat posts & a few other trinkets which were all on their way back from (Superbike Dan Purcell)!!!!

I was freezing & standing outside at the Garage having my tyre changed (about 3 miles from home) when I noticed a UPS van parked up, the driver was across the street making his delivery & I don't know why but i went over to him & asked him if by any chance he had a delivery for me ????????? To my amazement it was only the right van with 2 boxes containing my Freestyle beauties: 86 Kuwahara Bravo KT, 87 Hutch Windstyler & 87 Gt Performer. :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch: :daumenhoch:

I've literally just got them back un-packed them & had to share these with you, they all are original colours to their respective years but they were all originally different colours to start off with.

The GT was Hot Pink (now White), the Kuwahara originally Green (now Neon Yellow) & the Windstyler was Blue (now Hot Neon Pink) & I'm super stoked with the results. I'll update with the builds as they progress but lets just say there will be a lot of white wall action in the days /weeks ahead :daumenhoch: Hope you Like !

I can't explain how bright this bike is & the Pink Hutch is looking insane & it's well on the way ( I'm just making a decision on a few part options) I'm not too keen on the direction I've gone on the GT though so might completely re do this. Judge for yourself the part pic is at the bottom & I'll post pics of the Hutch later in the week !

Cheers Mate, my issue with the pink on the GT is that you can only really have 1 shade of a colour on a bike otherwise it starts to look messy, the same as with the blue purple on the pads & Ive not been able to source decals to match the colours on the pads & the brakes (exactly) which to be honest i didn't think would be a problem when i started out on this one.

Think I might sell of the pads & all of the pink bits & look at a different colour combo ! This is where i got with it today.

Still a way to go on the GT I think, might have to live with this colour combination for a few days to see if I get used to it i reckon. Theres nothing more 80's & Freestyle than whitewalls, I love em, & theres some on my next build too. Cant really speak about GT decals on here as GT don't like people to re-produce them without a license but needless to say the appropriate people have been contacted but they cant do the same pink ... :(

Ok I've also added this to the Unfashionable Hutch's from 87 thread too as there was a lot of love for this frame set when i first posted it on here.

I've not gone for top of the line parts on this one but for me it works, have to admit i changed the spec on this build 3 times, (white brakes & white dominator, then a hi cal- black & white style seat. (Black hutch spider & chain ring /white hutch spider & chainring) different stems etc etc etc.....

it's had all sorts of parts tried but i've gone with my original colour concept & I'm stoked with the results even though i'm sure there will be some backhanded comments on this one. :daumenhoch:
