I posted some pictures of my Haro Freestyler on Flickr a while back (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ianlloyd/sets/375321/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ianlloyd/sets/375321/)).

It's a 1982 model (from memory - owned by me since the old days, not a recent purchase) but I just had someone comment that it wasn't a Haro Master because they (Masters) didn't have a serial on the rear drop-out (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ianlloyd/15592996/in/set-375321/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ianlloyd/15592996/in/set-375321/)). The thing is, I never claimed it was a Haro Master - I always knew it as simply a 'Haro Freestyler'. Masters were later, right?

He's commented:
somewhere i read that they didn't make the master until 1985 . again I know little about these first bikes other than torker made them and they are super rare . The pics of your bike is the only clue of one in 24 years.
So, the question is this: is the bike I've got a super rare thing now? I think he's assumed that anything pre- Master from Haro = Torker, but I think what I have is basically an early Freestyler.
Anyone shed any light on this? Please check out the few pics that I have put up on Flickr for more details.
Thanks!

So I know, what is that uniquely identifies it as being made by Torker? As opposed to simply Gen 1 Freestyler? Or are they one of the same?
Gotta love the serial on it - 1138 (sci-fi fans and film buffs will get that reference!)

they are the same one

It`s a gen 1 Haro Freestyler with the right sequence of serial numbers but in the wrong place :crazy2:
Perhaps they just made a mistake that day :idiot2:
Get some washers on those front and rear dropouts though :daumenhoch:

Gen 1 for deffo , early aswell .The serial number is in the correct place aswell , Billy the frame is upside down lol.....The number is on the inside of the drive side dropout .The T in the serial number tells you its Torker ,The double letters and four numbers means its production date is Apr 1983 . Freestylers aren't that rare but fetch good money .Also early masters had the same type of serial number and are in the same place as they were made by Torker , These are rare .Yours is deffo gen 1 freestyler.
very nice fella.....
